THE GOVERNMENT OF GOD By Major. Frank Materu

"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power." – 1 Corinthians 4:20

It is no small thing for anyone to declare they belong to God.

When you say you are God's possession, it means you come under His authority, His government, and His lordship.

This implies you no longer have personal rights or ownership of your life; God takes those rights, and you

become a citizen of His new Kingdom—the Kingdom of Heaven, where the living God reigns.

When God takes control of a person's life, not many willingly surrender.

Many resist Him and despise His rule, bringing trouble upon themselves.

They fail to submit and humble themselves before the living God or walk in the path He provides.

When you reduce yourself before God, acknowledging that your life is nothing without Him, you will realize your deep need for His wisdom.

Few in this generation will receive God’s wisdom because many do not seek Him.

A person who does not learn and prove themselves as approved by God, as a worker unashamed of their calling, is a disappointment before the Lord.

Many claim to belong to the Lord, but their hearts and lives are far from Him.

The weight of worldly concerns and physical struggles press them down.

However, when one releases these things, takes up their cross, and follows the Lord, they will discover the joy of the Lord.

COMFORT

"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them." – 1 John 2:15

When a person seeks their own comfort, pleasures, and treasures apart from what the Lord desires, the

enemy offers counterfeit comforts that lead them away from God.

Many are now in eternal torment because they sought comfort.

They disregarded what the Lord required of them, thinking it unworthy of their attention.

They pursued earthly pleasures, material possessions, and selfish desires instead of living the life God intended for them.

God has called His people to endure trials and suffering for His name's sake.

He has called them to forsake worldly comforts, which will inevitably come to those who truly follow Him.

Do not be deceived into thinking that security lies in clinging to worldly things.

Your safety does not come from anything in this world; it is found in surrendering your life to God.

If you truly belong to God, your life is no longer your own.

Your life is a vessel meant to be used and directed by God for His purposes.

If you place your life fully in God’s hands, you will see Him use it for His glory.

Many among His people are spiritually wounded because they have forsaken Him and turned to other gods.

They have sought success, security, and refuge in worldly things and have lost their way.

They pursued comfort, compromised with people, and their pursuits have led them to destruction.

MATURITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me." – 1 Corinthians 13:11

The living God desires His people to grow in maturity and take responsibility in Him.

Those who remain childlike in their behavior, always insisting on their own way, are not led by God.

God has called you to die to your desires, plans, and ambitions.

He has called you to be molded and shaped by Him because He is God.

If you blame circumstances or others for what God requires of you, you are foolish.

You are stepping out of alignment with the Spirit of God and following the desires of your flesh.

Many began their walk with God but spent their lives playing childish games and never grew.

You live in a time where much of what calls itself the church is filled with people who remain spiritually immature.

They sit in their comfortable spaces, playing with trivial things, doing nothing for God.

Pastors, afraid to confront them, cater to their desires instead of leading them to maturity and responsibility.

These leaders and their congregations will be held accountable.

Those called to shepherd God’s flock must lead them toward truth, maturity, and responsibility.

God is not pleased with oversized children who always demand their own way.

True disciples leave childish ways behind and seek God’s face to understand how to fulfill their responsibilities before Him.

They do not seek what elevates themselves but what God desires.

A prideful person will always refuse to admit their faults while pointing out the flaws of others.

But God delights in those who deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him.

God finds joy in those who embrace their responsibilities with gladness.

He desires you to be humble and to grow in maturity.

It is a glorious thing to take up the responsibilities God intended for you, carrying His truth and proclaiming His light.

Do not remain satisfied as ignorant children, always being coddled to get your way.

If you stay in such a state, thinking you have achieved something, you are destroying your life.

Instead, grow in the Lord and fulfill His purpose for you.
