A Call to True Repentance and Intercession~ By Major. Frank Materu
Main Verse:
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
In a world where sin, darkness, and vanity seem to increase daily, God is deeply grieved as He looks upon His creation.
He sees multitudes, even those who claim to be His people, turning away from the call of righteousness, choosing instead to follow fleeting pleasures.
The pursuit of vanity, self-centeredness, and love for darkness has spread like a disease, and only through a revolution of repentance can true freedom and healing come.
1. The State of the World and God's Grief
God observes not only those who walk openly in sin but is especially saddened by those who claim to be His, yet live in contradiction to His will.
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me"(Matthew 15:8, KJV).
It is painful for God to witness those who profess His name but remain bound by pride, self-righteousness, and false doctrines that lead them away from the truth.
2. The Need for a Band of Intercessors
"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Ezekiel 22:30 (KJV)
As the world turns further from God, there is a pressing need for intercessors—those who will truly repent, stand in the gap, and cry out to God to stay His hand of judgment.
This band of intercessors is urgently needed to counteract the waves of darkness, as they plead with God to bring mercy and call others to repentance.
3. A Cry of Repentance Against Pride and Delusion
Pride and self-deception keep many from seeing the truth. But God is calling for a Repentance Revolution, a movement where hearts are humbled and freed from pride.
This revolution calls people to genuine repentance, freeing them from the sins and delusions that separate them from God.
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19 (KJV)
In an age where many are under the false assumption of pleasing God, it is crucial to reject doctrines that promote personal pleasure, materialism, and carnal satisfaction.
4.The Reality of Spiritual Warfare
In this time of intense spiritual warfare, the enemy seeks to keep people bound by sin and separated from God.
Many are unaware that by forsaking repentance, they allow spiritual forces to encamp over their lives, leading them further from the truth.
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
Demons find residence in lives that resist repentance, causing people to feel disturbed at the thought of holiness.
But the call is clear: God invites us to surrender, repent, and take on His burden for lost souls.
5. A Life of True Intercession and Love for Souls
As believers, we are called to take on the mind of Christ, filled with love and burden for others.
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 (KJV)
This call is not only to care for our own souls but to stand as intercessors for the souls of others.
God desires a people willing to forsake carnal desires and embrace His heart for those trapped in darkness.
When we continue in repentance, not only for ourselves but also for the world, God’s mercy flows abundantly.
He offers freedom from the chains of pride, lust, and falsehood.
In true intercession, we find ourselves aligned with His purpose and filled with His compassion for the lost.
Conclusion: Embrace Repentance and Become His Intercessor
Let us each examine our hearts, turning from self-centeredness, and embracing God’s call to repent and intercede.
In doing so, we align ourselves with His will and find the true joy of walking in righteousness.
May we each respond to this **call of repentance and intercession** and become beacons of light in a darkened world.
"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (KJV).
