THE NEW BREED OF BELIEVERS By: Major. Frank Materu

Key Verse

"But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 3:13-15)

Introduction:

God never intended for His people to become so entangled in worldly affairs that they forget Him.

Yet, as we examine the state of modern Christianity, we must ask:

Where is the love? Where is the zeal? Where is the passion for God?

Many believers prioritize personal comfort, worldly concerns, and superficial pursuits over their relationship with the Almighty.

This article delves into the alarming state of the Church, the consequences of spiritual complacency, and the hope God provides through the new breed of believers who remain faithful to Him.

The Current State of the Church:

1. A Church Distracted by Worldliness:

The Church, which should shine as a beacon of truth, has instead been consumed by:

- Self-indulgence and materialism.

Many have chosen the comforts of the world over the call to holiness.

- Compromise with sin.

Instead of standing firm, the Church has embraced falsehoods and justified sin.

"They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator." (Romans 1:25)

2. The Danger of False Doctrines:

False teachers and ungodly practices plague the Church today.

Many congregations have become breeding grounds for deception, leading believers astray.

"Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!" declares the Lord.

(Jeremiah 23:1)

The result? A Church riddled with spiritual sickness, filled with empty rituals rather than genuine worship.

The Consequences of a Corrupt Church:

When the Church strays from God’s truth, it faces devastating repercussions:

- Loss of Spiritual Power.

The anointing fades when sin takes root.

"Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." (2 Timothy 3:5)

- Judgment from God.

God's patience with disobedience is not endless.

"For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household." (1 Peter 4:17)

The New Breed of Believers:

In the midst of the Church's decline, God is raising up a faithful remnant—a new breed of believers who will remain true to Him.

1. Characteristics of the New Breed:

These believers will:

- Walk in Truth.

They reject deception and embrace God’s Word.

"Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth." (John 17:17)

- Remain Holy and Faithful.

They will live lives set apart for God, resisting the lure of the world.

"Be holy, because I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16)

2. God’s Promise to the Faithful:

God will bless those who stay steadfast in their faith:

- Spiritual Renewal.

They will experience the power of God’s Spirit in their lives.

"Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength." (Isaiah 40:31)

- Eternal Reward.

Their faithfulness will be honored in eternity.

"Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of your master." (Matthew 25:21)

Call to Action:

Believers must decide whether to remain complacent in sin or to rise up as part of God’s new breed.

1. Repent and Return to God:

Turn away from sin and seek God wholeheartedly.

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out." (Acts 3:19)

2. Stand Firm in the Faith:

Refuse to compromise with the world and remain anchored in God’s Word.

"Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Conclusion:

The Church faces a pivotal moment. God is calling His people to repentance and faithfulness, separating those who truly belong to Him from those who do not.

The new breed of believers will shine as lights in a dark world, reflecting His glory and advancing His kingdom.

Will you be among the faithful? Embrace the truth of God’s Word, reject the lies of the enemy, and walk boldly as part of His chosen remnant.

"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to

him." (2 Chronicles 16:9)

May God guide you to be part of His new seed, firmly rooted in His truth and unwavering in your faith.
