THE GREAT TEST OF TRUSTING GOD By Major. Frank Materu
"But the one who endures to the end will be saved." – Matthew 24:13
God’s Word clearly tells us to persevere.
Endure sound doctrine. Endure righteousness.
Endure battles with diligence and press forward.
The one who endures to the end will be saved.
Be willing to be shaped by God’s hand and submit to His commands.
Only then can He use you for His perfect purposes.
God desires those who are molded by His hand and willing to come under His authority to fulfill His divine plan.
"Now make confession to the Lord, the God of your ancestors, and do His will. Separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the foreign wives." – Ezra 10:11
Just as God instructed Israel to separate themselves from the surrounding nations, so He calls you to separate yourself for Him.
Use spiritual discernment.
Do not act foolishly or trample on everything indiscriminately.
Be wise, careful, and use the understanding He has given you.
God has called His people to step forward, obey His commands, listen to Him, and heed His Word.
The more attentive you are to His voice and the more faithfully you follow His commands, the more He will accomplish through you.
HE COMES IN HUMILITY
"Say to Daughter Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey.'" – Matthew 21:5
When Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem in triumph, He came riding on a donkey.
He entered humbly and gently.
Many were unable to receive such a king because He came in a manner contrary to their expectations. The same is true today.
He comes to you in gentleness and humility.
If you accept Him as He comes, you will truly receive Him.
The lofty ways of humanity, marked by pride and self-promotion, are not the ways of the Lord.
The competitions, spectacles, and arrogance so often displayed are not His methods.
God comes humbly, to those who can receive Him in that posture.
He does not approach the proud or the self-exalted but draws near to those who kneel before Him.
Victory is not achieved by the boastful but by those who seek His face and His strategies.
"For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brethren.
You shall hear Him in all things, whatever He says to you.
And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.'" – Acts 3:22-23
Just as Moses came as a deliverer, so Jesus came as the ultimate Redeemer.
Both faced attempts on their lives and both were hidden for protection.
Let this teach you something: when God raises up a deliverer for His people, the enemy will attempt to destroy them.
Yet, if you listen to God and heed what He tells you, He will shield you at the right time and for the right purpose.
THE TEST OF RELEASING YOUR ENEMIES
"Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge;
I will repay,' says the Lord.
On the contrary:
'If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.'
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." – Romans 12:19-21
One of the greatest tests of trusting God is the test of releasing your enemies into His hands.
Everyone desires to avenge themselves, and many struggle to trust God wholeheartedly with vengeance.
True trust in God comes when you leave your enemies to Him.
Often, people invite more trouble into their lives because they refuse to embrace His wisdom.
Challenges will come, as they do to all, but God can grant you the wisdom to navigate through them.
It is through trusting Him fully—especially in matters of justice and vengeance—that you will witness His perfect plan unfold.
Let go, trust in His timing, and He will guide you through every trial, granting you victory through His divine wisdom.
