KNOWING GOD By Major. Frank Materu

“Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

(John 3:14-15)

The True Gospel Must Be Preached:

We live in a generation where Christ is not preached as He is, but rather, people preach only what suits their desires.

However, the Living God desires that we proclaim Him as He truly is, for when He is lifted up, He draws all people to Himself.

The truth cannot be softened to draw people to men; God’s call is for His people to bring others to Him.

When God’s people declare His true nature, truth is revealed, and the genuine gospel is proclaimed.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matthew 28:19-20)

Beware of False Teachings:

Many preachers today declare their interpretations instead of the unchanging truth of the gospel.

They present a watered-down version of Christ that leads people to destruction rather than salvation.

We must be careful how we proclaim Christ, for He wants us to declare Him as He is, without compromise.

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”(1 Peter 2:2)

God is calling us to a deeper knowledge of Him, not just knowledge about Him.

Many assume they know God because they have heard of Him through others, but true understanding

comes through revelation from God Himself.

Knowing God Personally:

God desires more than for us to know about Him; He wants us to know Him personally. He longs for us to:

- Allow His Spirit to lead us.

- Let Him reign as King in our lives.

- Experience the humility of the valley and the power of His resurrection.

God wants us to know Him deeply.

The Danger of Living in Ignorance.

Many people live in ignorance, confining themselves to the “boxes” of human teaching rather than seeking God’s truth.

They rely on human doctrines and traditions, which lead to unbelief and spiritual stagnation.

Do not despise the process of growth.

God gives us the opportunity to approach Him with the humility of children, to learn His ways and grow in Him.

“You are not far from the Kingdom of God.”

(Mark 12:34)

Letting Go of the World:

Walking with God requires letting go of worldly attachments and sinful habits.

Holding onto the past while claiming to follow Jesus will only cause your spiritual “boat” to sink.

Just as a sinking ship must be relieved of excess weight to stay afloat, so too must we release:

- Old habits.

- Worldly attachments.

In exchange, God will fill our lives with His presence and His goodness.

Faith That Transcends Reality:

Many trust in human knowledge, theories, and doctrines, but few truly trust in God.

We must strive to have faith like Abraham, who believed God even when circumstances seemed impossible.

“Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God.” (Romans 4:19-20)

Spreading the Seed of the Gospel:

God calls us to plant His Word in the hearts of children and youth when their hearts are still tender and receptive.

He commands us to:

- Take action to save the lost.

- Be diligent and not idle.

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

The Power of Gratitude and Praise:

Use your mouth not for complaining or spreading ignorance but for praising God.

When we praise Him, God dwells in our praises.

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”

(Philippians 2:14-15)

Complaining and grumbling close doors to God’s blessings, but gratitude and praise unlock rivers of life prepared for you.

Conclusion:

Knowing God is not about following man-made traditions or doctrines; it is about seeking Him

wholeheartedly.

Trust in Him, grow in His Word, and proclaim His truth to the world.

As you walk with God, remember that it is not about pleasing people but about pleasing the One who gave His life for you.

Stay faithful, stay grateful, and let your life declare the glory of God.
