FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH By Major. Frank Materu

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

(Joshua 1:8)

Meditate on the Word of God:

It is not right to let the Word of God pass you by.

Instead, take time to meditate on it, for God has given His Word in abundance.

Speak about it continually.

Share with one another the things He has spoken to you today.

Discuss the things you remember and those you are pondering.

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46-47)

God Brings Increase:

It is the Lord who brings growth and unites His people as it pleases Him.

Do not rely on your own thoughts but instead obey His guidance.

What may seem like a calamity in your eyes can turn into great joy, for it is God’s addition, His flavor, and His covering.

Rejoice because He will increase His body as He wills.

Seek His face and understand His will, then pray accordingly, and He will answer you.

Love and Care for Others:

When God brings others into His fold, remember how He has nurtured and loved you.

He accepted you, embraced you, and called you to Himself.

Love and care for others just as God has loved and cared for you.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

(John 13:34)

If He sends others to you, nurture them with the same compassion and grace He has shown you.

Let His love flow through you to others.

Draw Strength from the Living Water:

When your well runs dry, God will fill it with His living water.

He is the source of life and the one who renews and cleanses you.

If you are struggling with unbelief or spiritual laziness, it is because you have allowed the enemy to settle in your mind and heart.

Do not let the enemy take control.

Fight back and stand firm in your faith.

“Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

(1 Timothy 6:12)

Overcome Spiritual Laziness:

Do not be lazy in your spiritual walk. Instead, be vigilant and fight against the schemes of the enemy.

Resist unbelief and overcome the spirit of laziness that seeks to hold you back.

Each believer must take responsibility for their own faith.

Do not wait for someone else to revive you or take action on your behalf.

Stir up your own spirit and engage in the fight.

Avoid Idolatry of the Past:

Do not create idols out of past experiences with God. Instead, keep moving forward in your walk with Him.

Some people turn their past encounters with God into idols and expect others to worship those experiences.

God does not desire this for His people.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

(Isaiah 43:18-19)

Stand Firm and Fight:

Faith requires effort and determination.

You cannot sit idly and expect victory.

Rise and fight!

Fight against doubt, spiritual laziness, and the schemes of the enemy.

Strengthen yourself in the Lord and press on.

Remember, it is God who equips and sustains you.

He provides the strength, life, and truth you need to overcome.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” (Ephesians 6:10-11)

Conclusion:

The good fight of faith is not for the faint-hearted.

It requires perseverance, vigilance, and unwavering trust in God.

Meditate on His Word, love others as He loves you, and stand firm in your faith.

When you seek His will and fight with His strength, He will fill you with His living water, renew your spirit, and bring you into victory.

Let your life reflect His glory as you continue to fight the good fight of faith.
