INVESTING IN THE KINGDOM: UNLEASHING FAITH FOR MULTIPLICATION By: Major Frank Materu

Key Scripture: Matthew 25:14-30

"For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them... And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey."

INTRODUCTION

As we step into a new season, God is calling His people to a greater dimension of faith and fruitfulness. The Lord has given each of us a measure of faith, and He expects us to invest it wisely for the growth of His Kingdom. Too often, believers are held back by fear, doubt, and the lies of the enemy, causing them to bury their faith instead of putting it into action. Just as in the parable of the talents, where some invested and received great rewards while one buried his talent in fear, God is urging His people to step out in faith. This teaching will explore the importance of investing in the Kingdom, overcoming the old nature, and walking in obedience to divine instructions.

OVERCOMING THE OLD NATURE: BREAKING FREE FROM BONDAGE

"Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin." (Romans 6:6)

One of the greatest hindrances to Kingdom investment is the old nature. The enemy uses doubt, fear, unbelief, and suspicion to cripple believers, keeping them from stepping into the fullness of God’s plan. The old man whispers lies, causing many to hesitate rather than trust God’s voice. However, the Lord reminds us that we have been set free from this bondage. It is our responsibility to rebuke the lies of the enemy and walk in the liberty of faith.

FAITH IN ACTION: MULTIPLYING WHAT HAS BEEN ENTRUSTED

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Faith that remains dormant is unfruitful. The parable of the talents illustrates that those who actively invested what they had received were rewarded abundantly, while the one who buried his talent was judged for his inaction. Faith must be put into action. The Lord is calling His people to step out, invest in souls, and proclaim the Gospel with boldness. When faith is exercised, it produces fruit, leading to Kingdom expansion and personal spiritual growth.

THE DANGER OF BURYING FAITH: A WARNING AGAINST FEAR AND UNBELIEF

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

The servant who buried his talent did so because of fear and a distorted view of his master. He accused his master of being unjust, and his fear led to disobedience. In the same way, when believers entertain negative attitudes toward God, questioning His goodness and doubting His promises, they align themselves with deception. Fear and unbelief are tools of the enemy that lead to spiritual stagnation and ultimately destruction. The Lord calls us to reject fear and embrace faith.

KINGDOM INVESTMENT: THE CALL TO MULTIPLY GOD'S GIFT

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)

Every believer has been entrusted with gifts, resources, and opportunities to advance the Kingdom of God. The challenge before us is to maximize what we have been given. Investing in souls, preaching the Gospel, discipling others, and walking in obedience to God’s commands are ways to multiply the investment God has made in us. As we faithfully sow into the Kingdom, we will see an exponential return—not just in our own spiritual growth but in the lives of those we touch.

SUMMARY

God has entrusted every believer with a measure of faith and gifts to invest in His Kingdom. Overcoming fear, doubt, and the lies of the enemy is critical in stepping into fruitfulness. Faith must be put into action to see multiplication. Those who bury their faith will face loss, while those who invest will receive great rewards.

CONCLUSION

The time to act is now. The Lord is calling His people to rise in faith and boldly invest in His Kingdom. Let us not be like the unfaithful servant who buried his talent but instead be faithful stewards who multiply what has been given to us. As we step into this new season, let us commit to increasing the Kingdom of God through our obedience and faithfulness.
