DESTROYING DEMONIC DOMINATION IN NATIONS By: Major Frank Materu
Key Scripture: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." - Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

Introduction
Throughout history, nations that once knew and honored God have fallen into the trap of spiritual corruption and demonic domination. When a people turn away from the principles of righteousness and submit themselves to the forces of darkness, they invite ruin and destruction. The present generation faces the same reality. Many nations have abandoned the ways of God, choosing instead to be governed by systems that are influenced by demonic powers. The consequences of this shift are evident—political instability, moral decay, widespread deception, and social unrest.
God has called His people to be salt and light in a world that is increasingly darkened by wickedness. However, many believers have grown comfortable with worldliness, seeking the approval of men rather than the righteousness of God. This compromise has rendered them powerless, allowing the forces of darkness to gain dominion. Yet, God does not desire His people to remain passive or to be victims of demonic oppression. Instead, He calls them to rise as warriors for righteousness, standing in the authority of Jesus Christ to break the strongholds of the enemy.
This article explores the urgent need for God's people to reject worldliness, embrace spiritual warfare, and destroy demonic domination in their nations through unwavering faith, obedience, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Call to Be Ambassadors of Christ
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God." - 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV)
As ambassadors of Christ, believers are called to represent the Kingdom of God, adhering to His standards rather than yielding to the influence of demons. This means choosing righteousness over compromise, truth over deception, and obedience over rebellion.
Too many Christians today seek the approval of the world instead of standing firm in their faith. They fear rejection, persecution, and discomfort. However, Jesus made it clear that His followers would face opposition. Yet, He also promised victory to those who remain steadfast in Him. When believers yield to the Holy Spirit rather than the pressures of society, they walk in divine authority, equipped to counteract demonic schemes.

The Consequences of Spiritual Rebellion
"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." - Proverbs 14:34 (KJV)
When a nation forsakes God's commandments and embraces sin, it invites chaos and destruction. The Bible provides numerous examples of civilizations that fell due to their rebellion against God—Babylon, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Israel during times of idolatry.
Similarly, today’s world is filled with nations that have rejected biblical principles, leading to moral decay and societal collapse. Instead of seeking God’s wisdom, they rely on human philosophies, political correctness, and deceitful ideologies inspired by demons. The result is a world plagued by fear, confusion, and instability.
However, God is merciful and desires restoration. If His people humble themselves, repent, and seek His face, He will heal their land and break the chains of demonic oppression.

Breaking the Strongholds of the Enemy
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds." - 2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)
Spiritual battles cannot be won through human efforts alone. Victory over demonic domination requires:
• Persistent Prayer and Fasting: Jesus emphasized that certain strongholds cannot be broken without prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21).
• Declaring the Word of God: Speaking God’s truth against the lies of the enemy weakens demonic influence.
• Walking in Holiness: Sin creates an entry point for the enemy. Living a righteous life denies demons legal access.
• Exercising Authority in Christ: Believers must boldly rebuke demonic forces in the name of Jesus (Luke 10:19).
God has given His people the power to overcome the forces of darkness, but they must rise in faith and take action.

Refusing to Worship Worldly Idols
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me." - Exodus 20:3 (KJV)
In today's world, many have placed their trust in politicians, celebrities, wealth, and human ideologies instead of God. This is idolatry, and it leads to disappointment and destruction. Political leaders, no matter how charismatic or powerful, are not saviors. Only Jesus Christ is the true Redeemer.
God’s people must reject idolatry and remain faithful to Him. They must not be swept away by the deceptions of the world but should keep their focus on Christ.
