Introduction
Life on earth is brief—a fleeting moment in the expanse of eternity. Yet, many people live as though their time here is endless, investing in pursuits that hold no value beyond the grave. God’s Word reminds us that we are here for a limited time only, and the decisions we make today shape our eternal destiny.
In this article, we will explore the importance of using our time wisely, focusing on God's eternal purposes rather than temporary distractions. Let us reflect on the brevity of life and the urgency of living for His Kingdom.

The Vision of Eternity
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2, NKJV)
God calls His people to maintain a vision focused on eternity. When we prioritize the eternal over the temporal, we align ourselves with His purpose and live as citizens of His Kingdom. Many, however, lose this vision by pursuing worldly values that offer nothing lasting.
The treasures of this world, no matter how enticing, will pass away. Jesus Himself warned, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” (Matthew 6:19-20, NKJV)

The Danger of Carnal Pursuits
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8:36, NKJV)
Chasing after the things of the world leads to spiritual emptiness and ultimate destruction. Many people invest their lives in acquiring wealth, status, and pleasure, only to discover that these pursuits cannot save them in the end.
God warns against sowing to the flesh, stating, “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” (Galatians 6:8, NKJV)

The Call to Repentance and Purpose
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19, NKJV)
God’s desire is for everyone to turn from sin and embrace the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Repentance is the key to aligning our lives with His purpose and escaping the hopeless pursuits of this world.
When we respond to His call, we can live with clarity and intention, fulfilling the work He has entrusted to us. As Paul wrote, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16, NKJV)

Steadfastness in God’s Work
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58, NKJV)
God calls His people to dedicate their lives to His work, using their limited time wisely. This involves proclaiming the gospel, resisting distractions, and standing firm against the schemes of the enemy.
Our responsibility is to sow seeds of truth and life, trusting God for the results. Every moment spent in His service brings eternal rewards, far surpassing the fleeting pleasures of this world.

Conclusion
Life is a gift from God, given for a limited time only. As stewards of this gift, we are called to live with purpose, focus on eternity, and share the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Let us not waste the precious time we have been given but instead redeem it for His glory.
As Psalm 90:12 reminds us, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” May we always seek His wisdom and align our lives with His eternal plan.
