COMPLETELY CONVERTED OR TOTALLY PERVERTED By: Major Frank Materu
Key Scripture: Romans 12:2 – "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will."

INTRODUCTION
In these perilous times, the battle for the soul of man is more intense than ever before. The world is teeming with deception, and the number of those who choose lies over truth is ever-increasing. Many who claim to love God are being forced into a choice—either to be completely converted and devoted to Him or to be totally perverted by the lies that dominate society. This is not a time for lukewarm faith; it is a time for absolute commitment to God’s way.
The Bible warns of times when people will prefer delusion, confusion, and craziness, loving their own destruction rather than seeking the truth of God. The choice to remain faithful or to stray away into the deceptions of the world is entirely in the hands of every individual. While God has provided a plain and righteous path, many have instead embraced rebellion, bringing upon themselves unnecessary troubles. Yet, God’s call remains: to be truly converted, steadfast in righteousness, and walking in the power of His Spirit.

THE REALITY OF TODAY’S DECEPTIONS
2 Timothy 3:1-2 – "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy."
We are living in a time of great deception. Society has been so deeply entrenched in sin that many no longer recognize evil as evil. People have become lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God, chasing after worldliness and forsaking divine truth. The perversions of the age have led to confusion about identity, morality, and righteousness. Many are calling good evil and evil good, just as prophesied in Scripture.
Despite the widespread corruption, God still calls His people to remain steadfast. He desires for us to walk in holiness and truth, refusing to conform to the perversions of the world. Those who continue in their rebellion will only find themselves lost in desolation and despair.

THE DANGER OF STRAYING FROM GOD
Jeremiah 2:19 – "Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of Me, declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty."
Straying from God leads to destruction. Many who have once claimed to follow Christ are now entangled in sin because they chose their desires over God's commands. Instead of being led by the Spirit, they have embraced the gods of the world—materialism, lust, and self-worship. When people reject God's ways, they open themselves up to confusion and despair.
Rebellion against God never leads to peace; it only results in suffering. When people forsake the ways of the Lord, they become vulnerable to the lies of the enemy, losing their sense of purpose and identity.

THE CALL TO COMPLETE CONVERSION
Matthew 22:37 – "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'"
God desires complete devotion. He is not interested in half-hearted followers who mix the world’s ways with His truth. True believers are those who love Him with their entire being and walk in obedience to His Word.
Being completely converted means submitting fully to God’s will, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our minds daily. It means rejecting the falsehoods of this world and standing firm in righteousness. Those who are completely converted will not be swayed by every new trend or ideology that contradicts God’s truth.

LIVING IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Galatians 5:16 – "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."
To remain in the path of righteousness, believers must rely on the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God enables us to discern truth from lies and to walk in victory rather than defeat. Those who are led by the Spirit will not fall into the traps of deception but will remain steadfast in their faith.
The presence of the Holy Spirit brings peace, wisdom, and clarity. Those who are walking in the Spirit are shielded from the pressures of the world and are empowered to live godly lives.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
In these times of great deception, believers must choose whom they will serve. Will they be completely converted and dedicated to God, or will they be perverted by the lies of the world? The choice is clear, and the consequences are eternal.
God has called His people to live in righteousness, rejecting the corrupt ways of the world. Those who remain faithful will experience His peace, guidance, and ultimate victory. However, those who reject His ways will find themselves lost, separated from His grace.
