RESTORATION TO THE BOSOM OF THE LORD By Major Frank Materu

God has revealed His desire for His people to gather before Him in the way He ordains. He longs for us to make Him our light and glory.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice…” (Philippians 4:4–7). We are called to delight in the Lord, celebrate His goodness, give Him glory, and rejoice in the victory we have through Him.

“What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.” (1 Corinthians 14:26)

The Lord desires that we, as His people, gather to call upon His name, seek His face earnestly, and align ourselves with His will and strategies. In these sacred gatherings, the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, intensifies our yearning for lost souls to be saved, and reveals the righteousness of God that sets people free.

Through this process, we see the manifestation of freedom, righteousness, and restoration—key principles that underpin God's plan for humanity. These are the truths we are called to proclaim, bringing freedom to people in the power of His name, revealing His righteousness, and restoring us to the purpose He originally intended for humankind.

God's Promise of Glory and Restoration

“The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts: and in this place, I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.” (Haggai 2:9)

As we return to God’s presence, we become His sons and daughters, restored to the glory and peace that surpass the former days.

A Call to Awaken Revival

“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 2:3)

God is calling us to labor for revival. Revival is not easy—it is born out of persistent prayer, obedience, and sacrifice. It requires us to confront the sins of our generation and intercede for God's mercy and restoration.

The Lord speaks to us:

"I desire to restore revival. Consider its meaning and the work it entails. Revival brings righteousness back to My people and draws them to My bosom.

It is not an effortless task, but through the power of My Spirit, it will come to pass. Stand in the gap, take up the burden, and intercede fervently for My will to be done. Revival must come in holiness, truth, and righteousness."

A Life of Sacrifice and Courage

“Prepare the way of the Lord!” (Mark 1:3)

Like John the Baptist, we are called to a path of sacrifice and bold proclamation of repentance. The way of the Lord is not easy; it is a path of self-denial, righteousness, and perseverance.

The Lord often places His servants in challenging circumstances to ensure our joy and peace are found only in Him. Like the prophets and apostles who endured prisons, dangers, and trials, we too must remain steadfast, keeping our focus on God.

A Remnant of Faithful Servants

“Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.” (Genesis 5:24)

God does not look for numbers but for hearts fully surrendered to Him. He desires a remnant who will choose Him above all else, regardless of trials and persecution. These are the ones who will see His kingdom and experience His glory.

True Witnesses of God’s Word

“And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name, they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17–18)

God seeks bold witnesses who will declare His truth without compromise. True power lies in proclaiming the unwatered Word of God, even if it brings opposition. Such servants understand that pleasing God is far greater than seeking human approval.

A Challenge to Stand Firm Amid Opposition

God has raised us for resistance and opposition to falsehood. As we walk in His truth, we must expect and endure challenges.

The Word of God is a stumbling block to many, but we must remain steadfast, knowing that His light will overcome all darkness.

“This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.” (Acts 4:11)

The opposition we face is not personal; it is directed at the Word we carry. Do not be discouraged, for God is with you, and His truth will prevail.

God's Urgent Cry to Feed His People

The Lord declares:

"Just as a physical famine causes great suffering, so does the spiritual famine that grips My people. There is a desperate need for My living Word, which can only come through obedient servants. Distribute My Word faithfully—it carries My Spirit and breaks the chains of the enemy. Feed those who hunger for righteousness, even when they do not recognize their need."

Conclusion

The restoration of God’s people to His bosom is a call to action for every believer. Revival requires sacrifice, boldness, and unwavering faith in the face of opposition. As we stand firm in His Word and declare His truth, the Lord promises to bring freedom, righteousness, and restoration to His people.

Let us embrace this divine calling with joy, knowing that we are co-laborers with Christ. May we live as witnesses of His glory, faithful to the end, and usher in the revival that will glorify His name.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
