DIVINE DESIGN VS. MISFIT MADNESS By: Major Frank Materu

INTRODUCTION
From the beginning of time, God created humanity with divine purpose and intentionality. He formed man and woman in His image, assigning them roles and responsibilities that would reflect His perfect will. In that original design, humanity enjoyed harmony, peace, and a close relationship with the Creator. However, sin entered the world when Adam and Eve chose deception over truth, leading to a state of brokenness, disorder, and what can be termed as misfit madness.
This article explores how deviation from divine design has led to suffering, corruption, and ultimate destruction. By understanding God’s original intent and the consequences of rebellion, we can choose to walk in His righteousness rather than be swept away by the madness of sin.

THE FALL FROM DIVINE DESIGN
Genesis 3:6 – "When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."
In the Garden of Eden, humanity was in perfect alignment with God. There was no sickness, no suffering, and no separation from His presence. However, when Adam and Eve chose to disobey, they stepped out of divine design and into a state of spiritual and physical decay. Sin introduced death, toil, and torment into their existence, shifting them from a state of divine harmony to one of struggle and alienation.
This same deviation from divine design continues today, as people reject God’s truth and embrace deception. The consequences remain the same—brokenness, suffering, and separation from God.

THE DAYS OF NOAH: AN EXAMPLE OF REBELLION
Genesis 6:5 – "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time."
Before the great flood, humanity had fallen into deep wickedness. People had abandoned the ways of God and embraced corruption, violence, and perversion. Noah, a righteous man, preached repentance, warning of the impending judgment. Yet, the people mocked him, rejecting the call to return to divine design.
When the flood came, all who refused to heed God's warning perished. This historical event serves as a solemn reminder that deviation from God’s order leads to destruction. The same spirit of rebellion that existed in Noah’s time is present today, with many embracing lifestyles and ideologies that defy God’s purpose.

THE MOCKERY OF THE RAINBOW
Genesis 9:13 – "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth."
After the flood, God gave the rainbow as a symbol of His promise never to destroy the earth by water again. However, in today’s world, this sacred symbol has been perverted by those who seek to challenge divine design. Instead of honoring God’s mercy, they use the rainbow as a banner of rebellion, promoting ideologies that contradict His original purpose.
This mockery invites divine wrath, as humanity continues to flaunt sin before God. Those who twist His covenant sign into a representation of lawlessness will ultimately face His judgment, just as the people of Noah’s time did.

THE DECEPTION OF REDEFINING HUMANITY
Romans 1:26-27 – "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another."
One of the greatest forms of misfit madness today is the belief that people can redefine their own identity outside of God’s design. The rise of gender confusion and unnatural desires is a direct attack on the divine order established by God. Instead of embracing the image in which they were created, many are deceived into thinking they can reconstruct themselves according to their desires.
The results of this rebellion are tragic. Those who undergo bodily alterations in defiance of God’s design suffer emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They live in pain, depression, and regret because their bodies and souls were never meant to function outside of the Creator’s blueprint.

SUMMARY
God's divine design is perfect. When humanity abides by His principles, there is peace, harmony, and fulfillment. However, when people choose to deviate from His plan, they invite chaos, confusion, and destruction into their lives. The world today is plagued by misfit madness—people rejecting God's truth in favor of lies that lead to suffering.

CONCLUSION
From the days of Adam and Eve to Noah’s generation and into modern times, the consequences of rejecting divine design are evident. Humanity continues to suffer because of its rebellion against God’s established order. However, the good news remains: through Jesus Christ, restoration is possible. Anyone who turns back to God's design can be healed and redeemed from the corruption of sin.

The time to return to divine design is now. Do not be swept away by the deception of the world. Instead, choose to walk in obedience to God’s word, embracing His truth and rejecting the lies of the enemy. Isaiah 40:31 – "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
No matter how dark the world becomes, God’s truth remains a firm foundation. Stand strong in His word, uphold His divine design, and be a beacon of light in a world consumed by confusion.
