YOUR JOY WILL BE OVERFLOWING By Major Frank Materu
Introduction
In this life, we are privileged to have a relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. As believers, we are not subjected to the same turmoil and distress that the world faces, for we are covered by the power of Love Divine. This love, bestowed upon us by the Almighty, leads us to live in joy and peace that surpasses all understanding. The world may live in darkness and deception, but we, as God's people, are called to walk in the light of His presence, constantly filled with the joy that flows from Him. This message reminds us of the spiritual privilege we have as children of God and the overflowing joy that comes from walking in obedience to His Holy Spirit.

1. The Privilege of Knowing God
As believers, we are privileged to serve Jesus Christ as our Savior and to know God as our Father. Unlike the world, we are not bound by confusion and despair but are guided by the Holy Spirit, who leads us daily.
Scripture:
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26, KJV)
The Holy Spirit is our constant companion, guiding us into all truth and empowering us to live according to God's will.

2. The World’s Condition and Our Contrast
The world is in turmoil, filled with confusion, despair, and hopelessness. People who are not under the covering of Jesus Christ are lost in the darkness of their sin, unable to find peace. But as believers, we are not governed by the ever-changing circumstances of the world.
Scripture:
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7, KJV)
We are called to remain steadfast in the peace of God, which guards our hearts and minds, regardless of what is happening around us.

3. The Power of Love Divine
God’s love for us is immeasurable and all-powerful. It is through His divine love that we are empowered to overcome the struggles of life. This love has no end and no comparison to any human love.
Scripture:
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39, KJV)
God's love for us is eternal and unshakable, and it gives us the strength to endure all things.

4. Spiritual Weaponry for Victory
As believers, we are not left defenseless in the face of spiritual warfare. God has equipped us with spiritual weapons to fight against the forces of evil. Our victory is assured when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil.
Scripture:
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7, KJV)
Through obedience to God and resistance against evil, we can walk in victory over every demonic attack.

5. The Overflowing Joy of Obedience
When we walk in obedience to the Holy Spirit, our cup of joy will overflow. The joy of the Lord is our strength, and it is through praising and honoring Him that we experience the fullness of His joy.
Scripture:
"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." (Psalm 16:11, KJV)
As we dwell in God’s presence and live in obedience, we experience the joy that only He can give.
