THE WILL OF GOD By Major. Frank Materu
Introduction
God did not intend to be separated from His people, but humanity’s selfish desires led to them exploiting and using God's people for personal gain.
However, in this time, God is calling His people back to His heart. He is inviting them to feast with Him, to be restored in His presence.
This message urges us to seek God's face for answers to life's challenges and to trust Him, rather than relying on human wisdom and solutions.
Seeking God’s Face in Times of Trouble
When facing difficulties, seek God's presence because He is the answer.
It’s not that God won't use human beings to assist us, but we must first seek Him as our leader, for He alone can guide us with wisdom and understanding.
Psalm 121:12 says:
"I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth."
When we recognize God as our ultimate source of help, He will pave the way for us.
While human wisdom may offer temporary solutions, God’s wisdom is eternal, and it leads to true peace.
In our time, many are seeking to be the greatest, striving for power, status, and recognition, often at the expense of truth and integrity.
They tend to despise the small beginnings and fail to appreciate the small acts of faithfulness, as they long for grand displays of success.
Yet, God honors those who remain faithful in the small things. Zechariah 4:10 says:
"Do not despise the day of small beginnings..."
True strength lies not in numbers, but in God’s power working through those who faithfully follow Him.
God Honors the Humble and Faithful
God respects those who trust in Him, not for their great numbers or outward appearances but for their sincere faith.
Let us allow God’s Spirit to open our eyes to the small things He is doing in our lives, so that we can give thanks and see His hand in everything, whether big or small.
God does not want us to carry heavy burdens on our own;
He desires that we cast our cares on Him, for He is the One who sustains us. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us:
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."
God’s purpose for us is not to be weighed down by the world’s struggles but to live as citizens of His Kingdom, under His sovereign care.
Seeking the Counsel of God
Wisdom begins with seeking God’s counsel. It is God, the Living God, who imparts wisdom that is true and lasting.
The truly wise person seeks God for guidance, and as they do, they become more wise, walking in the paths of righteousness.
The foolish person, however, continues in their own way, caught in traps of their own making.
God delights in giving wisdom to those who seek it with an open heart. James 1:5 encourages us:
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
Why should we not seek God’s wisdom, when He offers it freely to those who are eager to hear His voice?
The wise person is one who listens attentively to God’s guidance, receiving His direction with joy and gratitude.
The Path of God’s Wisdom
When we walk in God’s wisdom, we are led in the direction of His divine purpose. Proverbs 3:56 teaches us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
As we follow His lead, we avoid many dangers and trials because we are walking in the will of God.
He will provide for our needs, even in times of great famine or hardship. Psalm 37:25 assures us:
"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
God promises to protect and sustain those who seek Him and follow His ways.
Living in God’s Presence and Power
Let us be people who wait on the Lord, listening for His voice and following His lead. As we do, we will carry the burdens of God’s purpose, not our own ambitions. Romans 8:14 reminds us:
"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."
When we are led by His Spirit, we become instruments of His will, carrying His message to the world. We are called to be vessels of His peace, carrying His presence wherever we go.
Those who truly follow God will be sensitive to His Spirit, obeying His voice and carrying His burden of righteousness.
They will not live for themselves but will live for God’s glory, fulfilling His purpose in their lives.
Conclusion:
Listening to God’s Voice
In a world filled with noise and distractions, we are called to listen attentively to the voice of God.
He is speaking to His people, and those who are sensitive to His Spirit will be the ones who carry His light into the world. Isaiah 55:3 says:
"Incline your ear, and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live..."
Let us be people who eagerly seek God’s wisdom, walk in His ways, and allow His Spirit to guide us into the fullness of His purpose.
As we do, we will experience His peace, provision, and guidance, and we will be agents of transformation in this world.
Let us commit ourselves to follow God, to listen for His voice, and to walk in the wisdom He gives, for He is the true source of life and power.
