A Call to Lasting Repentance and True Alignment with God By: Major. Frank Materu

Key Verse:

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

One Final Chance: A Call to Genuine Repentance

God, in His mercy, is offering humanity one last opportunity to repent.

He calls each of us to examine our lives, to repent personally, for our nation, and for those who have strayed.

His ultimate desire is that all would come to repentance.

Jesus came to earth so that we would turn from our wicked ways, believe in Him, and receive forgiveness through repentance.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise… Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

The Path to Forgiveness: Repentance Through Christ Alone

In a time where many have used Jesus' name to promote causes that stray from God's truth, we are reminded that there is only one path to righteousness: repentance unto God.

Jesus offers the privilege of forgiveness if we are willing to repent.

He calls us to live in continual, daily repentance, not just for ourselves but as a demonstration for others.

Stand Firm in God's Agenda, Not Worldly Causes

Jesus never called His followers to immerse themselves in worldly political causes or social agendas.

Instead, He calls His disciples to adhere to Him, to repent, and to teach others the importance of repentance.

True change comes from individual transformation—when we walk in righteousness, our light can inspire others to do the same.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

The Decline of True Faith: A Call to Revive His Word

The world is in turmoil, and many souls are perishing because His Word has been neglected.

Instead of proclaiming God's truth, people have declared messages that lure others into sin, leading to a land filled with debauchery and defilement.

This sinfulness thrives because those who claim to be His have turned from their first love, God, and are now living in hypocrisy.

Repentance as the Cure for Pride and Sin

God holds His people accountable. The only solution for the spiritual decay brought by pride is genuine, heartfelt repentance.

This means turning from evil, not defending pride or excusing wickedness. We must heed God’s warnings and strive to walk uprightly in Him.

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

Conclusion: Living in Continual Repentance

God calls us to live a life of repentance, humbling ourselves before Him.

Allow His Spirit to examine your heart, actions, and attitudes, so that we may walk in righteousness.

Embrace His call to true repentance, seeking to live in alignment with His will each day.

In doing so, we fulfill His purpose and bear witness to His transforming power in the world.

May we be bold and unashamed in our repentance, and may others be drawn to the light of Christ through our faithful example.
