Soldiering for the Lord By General Jim Green.
The Call to Battle
Christians of the world, we greet you in the name of our loving Captain, Jesus Christ, in this great spiritual war. Together, we stand in formation to accept the great commission we are called to fulfill. We have fought many battles before, but now we face a more formidable host of enemies. It’s time to renew our commitment to the Lord’s Army, to salute our Commander-in-Chief, and to place our lives willingly into His hands. We cannot rely on past successes or dwell on past failures. We must seek to be refreshed, renewed, and rekindled in Him.
A World in Turmoil
Before us lies a world gone mad, filled with troubles and tribulations. Many have lost hope—we must renew it. Many have joined the ranks of the enemy—we must win them back. Many are without direction—we must point them the way.
But we must also prepare ourselves for the reality that some will refuse to be helped. We must learn not to let this bring us down. The suffering and chaos around us are often the result of people's actions and choices. The winds of great tribulation are blowing, and while their cruelty is evident, we must listen to the trumpet call of God sounding the battle cry.
The Spiritual War We Face
This is not a battle of flesh and blood but a spiritual war—a war between the powers of good and evil. We are called to take dominion, to overcome the temptations and evils that threaten the souls of mankind. As soldiers in this war, we must not only learn to fight but also teach others to do the same.
Our Calvary Captain cries, "Charge, take the offensive!" Thousands are answering this call, charging into the enemy's ranks and freeing those enslaved by Satan to live for Christ. They declare war on the enemies in their own lives, standing firm as Christ commands them.
Battle Action: Not Just Words
Believing isn’t enough. Faith isn’t enough. Good intentions aren’t enough. We must take action! With Christ leading us, we can overcome any enemy that stands in our way.
Fear is a formidable foe that has held back many victories. It weakens us, keeping us from experiencing the triumph that could be ours if we attacked it head-on. Look at those who live in fear within the walls of the church—afraid to engage in the battle, they become weak and lukewarm. But true soldiers don’t just talk about the war; they fight in it.
Stand Strong and Soldier Up
Soldiering for the Lord means standing strong in the face of fear. It means refusing to bow to the devil's threats and intimidations. This is the hour to "soldier up," for it is through battle that God builds our spiritual strength and brings us into submission to His power. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and through Him, we will prevail.
The Joy of the Battle
There is great joy and reward in standing and fighting for the Lord and His righteousness. When we stand for Him, He gets all the glory! Let us move onward and upward, with courage and faith, ready to fight the good fight.
Onward, soldiers of Christ! The battle is before us, and with our Lord leading the way, victory is assured.
