The Omniscience and Judgment of God By: Major Frank Materu

Key Scripture

Hebrews 4:13 - "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."

Introduction

God is omniscient, meaning He sees all things. There is no sin hidden from Him, and no one can escape His divine justice. Many deceive themselves into believing they can act in wickedness without consequence. However, the Lord makes it clear that He is watching, and He will reward each according to their deeds. He extends mercy to those who seek deliverance, but for those who persist in evil, His judgment is inevitable.

In these perilous times, evil has become rampant, and many openly flaunt their wickedness. Yet, God has not changed. His judgment remains steadfast against all abominations. This teaching explores the nature of God's omniscience, His righteous judgment, and the call to holiness in a corrupt world.

God Sees All Things

Proverbs 15:3 - "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good."

No sin is hidden from God. He is aware of the deeds of every person, whether done in secret or in the open. Those who think they can escape judgment are deceived, for God sees all and will hold every person accountable for their actions.

The Mercy of God Towards the Repentant

Ezekiel 18:23 - "Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked?" declares the Sovereign Lord. "Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?"

Though God is just, He is also merciful. He extends His grace to those who recognize their sin and cry out for deliverance. His desire is not to destroy, but to save. However, for those who persist in rebellion, judgment is inevitable.

The Wrath of God Against the Unrepentant

Romans 1:18 - "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness."

God’s wrath is poured out against those who choose sin and refuse repentance. Those who persist in abominable practices will face calamity, for they have invited divine punishment upon themselves.

The Peril of Leading Others into Sin

Matthew 18:6 - "If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."

Many of the wicked aim to corrupt the innocent, seeking to spread their evil among children and the youth. The Lord does not take this lightly. Those who defile others will face severe judgment.

God's Judgment Throughout History

Genesis 6:5-7 - "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, 'I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created.'"

Just as God judged the world in the days of Noah, He continues to bring judgment upon those who rebel against Him. Nations and individuals who persist in wickedness will not go unpunished.

The Principle of Reaping What We Sow

Galatians 6:7-8 - "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."

Every person will reap the consequences of their choices. Those who choose righteousness will inherit eternal life, while those who choose wickedness will inherit destruction.

Prayer of Salvation

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today, acknowledging that I am a sinner in need of Your mercy. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I repent of my sins and ask You to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior and Lord. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me in the path of righteousness. I surrender my life to You and choose to follow You all the days of my life.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
