Walking in Victory Over Darkness By Major Frank Materu
Key Scripture: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” – Luke 10:19

Introduction:
In our daily walk as believers, we are called to walk in the dominion power given to us by God, a power that enables us to overcome the forces of darkness and live victoriously. This dominion is not just a privilege but a responsibility, one that equips us to stand firm against the attacks of the enemy. However, many believers fail to exercise this power, allowing demonic forces to control their minds, bodies, and emotions. The truth is, we are not meant to live as victims, but as victors. This message urges us to embrace the dominion power we have been given, walk in it daily, and refuse to be dominated by the enemy.

The Power to Overcome Demons
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” – 2 Corinthians 10:4
God has granted us dominion over all the powers of darkness, and it is through His Spirit that we are enabled to exercise this power. Demons, sickness, afflictions, and any other force contrary to God’s will cannot stand against us when we use the power we have been given. When we fail to use this power, we allow ourselves to be defeated and overtaken by the enemy. The enemy’s tactics are to plant lies in our minds, to make us believe that we are helpless, but God’s Word tells us we are more than conquerors through Him.

The Importance of Using the Dominion Power
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57
Imagine a person who owns a car but never drives it. Though the car is in their possession, they remain stranded, unable to move forward. This is similar to how many believers live—they possess the dominion power through Christ, but they fail to use it. Instead, they remain spiritually stagnant, overwhelmed by the world’s troubles and demonic oppression. God desires for His people to walk in the freedom and power that He has made available. We must actively exercise our authority, standing firm against any attack of the enemy and claiming the victory Christ has already won for us.

Resisting the Enemy’s Lies
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7
The enemy will always attempt to manipulate our thoughts, encouraging us to accept his lies about our circumstances. He whispers that we are weak, that we are unable to overcome, that we are destined for failure. But we must resist these lies. We have been given authority to cast down every vain imagination and take control of our thoughts. By submitting ourselves to God and resisting the devil, we can effectively use the dominion power He has given us to repel all attacks.

Living in Victory Through Dominion Power
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37
As believers, we are called to walk in daily victory. This victory is not based on our own strength, but on the dominion power given to us by God. It is a daily decision to align our actions with the Holy Spirit’s directives, to trust in God’s provision, and to reject the distractions and fears of the world. When we walk in obedience to His Spirit, we will not be taken captive by the lies and madness of the enemy, but will instead walk in peace, strength, and divine authority.

Summary:
God has given us dominion power to overcome all the forces of darkness. This power is ours to use, but we must be intentional in exercising it. We are not called to live as victims under the enemy’s control but as victors, walking daily in the strength and glory of God’s provision. By resisting the devil and submitting to God’s will, we will experience the fullness of His power in our lives.

Salvation Prayer:
If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I invite you to pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I come before You today acknowledging that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. I invite You into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me of my sins, and help me to live a victorious life in Your power. Thank You for Your love and salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
