True Faith Over False Allegiance: Rejecting the Deceptive Security of the World By: Major. Frank Materu
The Abundance of Mercy and Truth in God
God is ever-present to provide abundant mercy and truth.
When we partake in His life, we find ourselves uplifted and strengthened in Him.
However, He finds no joy in those who gaze longingly at the ways of the world or in those who do not trust Him completely.
To truly be His people, we must rely on God alone for our sustenance and direction.
The Danger of Trusting in Worldly Power
Those who claim to be God’s people but place their trust in human institutions are at risk of bringing curses upon themselves.
God never called His people to depend on a corrupt system that can only lead them astray.
Yet many say they love Him, even as they lean on government and secular authority for guidance and security.
If the world’s rulers demand betrayal of God, many will falter, trading their loyalty for temporary security.
“Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord.” Jeremiah 17:5
Cheap Excuses in an Age of Convenience
Despite living in physically comfortable times, few will mobilize for God, offer sacrifices, or live in obedience.
Unlike generations past who left everything and endured hardship for the sake of faith, many today offer God cheap excuses.
They seek control, resisting full submission to God’s authority. This self-centeredness is displeasing to Him.
The False Allegiance to the State
Many of those claiming to follow God are afraid of human authorities more than they fear Him.
They say they submit to earthly laws “for the sake of the Lord,” yet they are not truly obedient to Him.
In reality, they have taken on the mark of false allegiance—placing trust in the systems of this world rather than in God’s authority.
“You shall have no other gods before Me.” Exodus 20:3
Standing Firm in God’s Authority
True allegiance to God requires complete submission to His authority, rejecting the security offered by the world when it conflicts with our faith.
Living in fear of worldly powers is akin to taking on the mark of the beast.
Let us choose true faith over false allegiance, walking confidently in the
Lord’s ways and placing our hope in Him alone.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Conclusion:
Living in True Obedience
In a world that seeks to conform us, may we place our allegiance solely in God.
Our confidence in Him, rather than in human powers, brings us life, strength, and fulfillment.
Let us reject the false promises of worldly systems and hold firm to our true faith in God, allowing His authority to guide our lives in all that we do.
