THE DANGER OF DECEPTION AND THE DESTINY OF LIARS By: Major Frank Materu

Key Scripture: “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” — Revelation 21:8

INTRODUCTION

In every generation, the battle between truth and lies has determined the spiritual destiny of millions. From the Garden of Eden to the present age, deception has been the enemy’s most effective weapon against humanity. The prophetic message that declares, “Liars lose their souls and end in Hell,” outlines a spiritual reality often ignored in modern Christianity. Many people assume that lying is a small, harmless, or even justifiable sin, but the Scriptures firmly establish that lying is a doorway to destruction and eternal separation from God.

In this lesson, we explore the spiritual dynamics of truth and deception, the nature of lies, the consequences of embracing falsehood, and the divine path God has provided to keep His people in truth. This teaching emphasizes that deception is not just an action but a spiritual condition. Those who choose lies are choosing bondage, spiritual blindness, and self-destruction. Those who choose truth are choosing freedom, transformation, and eternal life in Christ.

The message is a wake-up call to believers, leaders, ministries, families, and nations. It reveals that the devil is not merely an enemy of God’s people; he is the father of lies, intent on corrupting minds, destroying destinies, and dragging souls into eternal damnation. As we journey through this revelation, we will come to understand why God hates lies, how He provides truth as a covering of protection, and why the Holy Spirit is essential for living a life of integrity, righteousness, and victory.

THE SPIRITUAL ROOT OF LIES

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning… for he is a liar and the father of it.” — John 8:44

Lies did not originate in the human heart. They began in the heart of Lucifer—the fallen angel who exalted himself against God. His rebellion was birthed in pride, deception, and falsehood. When Adam and Eve believed his lie in the Garden of Eden, sin entered the world and humanity fell under the curse of death. This is why deception is not a simple moral issue; it is a spiritual corruption connected directly to demonic influence.

Liars come under the same covering as the father of lies. When people reject God’s truth, they automatically embrace the counterfeit. They begin to reflect the nature of the one they follow. The message declares that liars lose their souls because the path of lies aligns them with Satan’s kingdom, not God’s. Their thoughts become corrupted, their hearts hardened, and their conscience seared. Lies open the door to pride, rebellion, immorality, and spiritual blindness.

God hates lies not because He is harsh, but because lies destroy lives. Truth leads to freedom, but falsehood produces death. That is why all who belong to God must love truth, speak truth, walk in truth, and remain under the covering of Truth which is Christ Jesus.

THE SELF-DECEPTION OF SINNERS

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” — Proverbs 14:12

The prophetic message asks a piercing question: Why do people choose Hell when Heaven is freely offered? The answer reveals a deep spiritual blindness. Many prefer lies because lies allow them to avoid responsibility. They imagine that by refusing to acknowledge their sin, they can escape the consequences.

Lies give a false sense of comfort. They allow people to justify wrongdoing. They prevent repentance. They silence conviction. But this comfort is temporary, deceptive, and deadly.

The tragedy is that many think they are safe because they feel no immediate consequence. They convince themselves that God will overlook their rebellion. They minimize sin and magnify self-confidence. They assume they will escape judgment. But spiritual deception always leads downward, deeper into darkness, farther from God.

Some lie to avoid accountability. Some lie to appear spiritual. Some lie to justify disobedience. Some lie to hide sin. But each lie strengthens the chains that bind the soul in darkness. The longer a person lives in lies, the harder their heart becomes, and the more distant they grow from the voice of the Holy Spirit.

PRIDE AS THE DOORWAY TO DECEPTION

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” — Proverbs 16:18

The message reveals that pride is the driving force behind continual lying. Pride refuses correction. Pride denies wrongdoing. Pride seeks to appear great and infallible. Pride makes a person unwilling to repent because repentance feels like weakness.

This was the tactic the devil used against Eve. He appealed to pride, promising her divine knowledge and godlike status. The deception was rooted in pride—“You will be like God.” The same tactic is used by Satan today. Pride leads people to reject truth because truth exposes human weakness and the need for humility before God.

Pride leads to destruction because it blinds a person to reality. They refuse to acknowledge error until it is too late. Many spiritual leaders have fallen because they allowed pride to replace humility, and lies to replace truth. Pride leads to self-exaltation, which leads to deception, which leads to destruction.

Jesus conquered the devil’s temptation because He refused pride. He refused the lies. He refused the shortcuts. He refused to prove Himself through the enemy’s suggestions. Satan had no foothold in Him, because Jesus loved truth more than human praise.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF LIVING IN FALSEHOOD

“Be sure your sin will find you out.” — Numbers 32:23

The prophetic message warns that liars will lose their souls. Their destiny is eternal separation from God. Lies may appear beneficial for a moment, but their long-term consequences are deadly.

Lies erode spiritual life.

Lies destroy relationships.

Lies corrupt integrity.

Lies block the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Lies invite demonic influence.

Lies lead to judgment.

When a person chooses deception repeatedly, they eventually become incapable of recognizing truth. Their conscience becomes seared. Their discernment collapses. Their spiritual vision becomes darkened. They lose the ability to see right from wrong.

The message declares that the devil and demons come like hungry scavengers seeking to devour anyone who abandons truth. Lies open the door for spiritual attack, confusion, fear, despair, and bondage. The soul becomes tormented because lies disconnect a person from God’s covering.

God does not send liars to Hell—liars choose Hell by rejecting truth. Hell is the final destination of all who embrace deceit, rebellion, and falsehood.

THE PROTECTION OF TRUTH AND THE COVERING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.” — John 16:13

God has not left His people defenseless. He has given the Holy Spirit as the covering of truth. The Spirit guides, convicts, corrects, and preserves the believer in righteousness.

Those who submit to the Spirit remain protected.

Those who reject His guidance become uncovered.

Without the covering of the Spirit, a person becomes vulnerable to the enemy’s lies. This is why the message emphasizes staying under the Mind of the Spirit. Truth is not merely information; it is a spiritual posture of obedience. To remain in truth is to remain under God’s authority, direction, and protection.

The Holy Spirit strengthens believers against temptation.

He exposes lies before they take root.

He reveals hidden dangers.

He empowers believers to resist the enemy.

He keeps the heart sensitive to conviction.

He gives wisdom in difficult decisions.

The more a person walks in obedience, the more truth fills their life. The more truth fills them, the more free they become. Truth is a shield, a light, and a fortress. Those who walk in truth walk in freedom, clarity, strength, and peace.

THE CALL TO WALK IN THE NARROW WAY OF TRUTH

“Enter by the narrow gate… because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” — Matthew 7:13–14

The narrow way is the path of truth. It requires humility, honesty, repentance, and obedience. Those who walk in truth choose righteousness even when it is difficult. They choose integrity even when no one is watching. They choose honesty even when lies seem easier.

The message urges believers to run into God as a High Tower of safety. Truth is a refuge. Lies are a trap. Those who cling to truth remain spiritually strong. Those who compromise truth become spiritually weak.

Truth transforms character.

Truth strengthens faith.

Truth renews the mind.

Truth purifies motives.

Truth protects destiny.

Walking in truth is a conscious decision that must be made daily. It is choosing God’s way over personal desires. It is choosing obedience over convenience. It is choosing humility over pride.
