THE ETERNAL FATHER AND HIS CALL TO OBEDIENCE By: Major Frank Materu
Key Scripture: Malachi 1:6
"A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear?" says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise My name. But you say, ‘How have we despised Your name?’"

INTRODUCTION
The concept of God as our Eternal Father is central to the Christian faith. He is not only our Creator but also the loving Father who desires an intimate relationship with His children. However, in today’s world, many have turned away from Him, choosing rebellion over obedience. They seek solutions from human strength rather than from God, forgetting that He alone is the source of all wisdom and strength.
As people move further from God, they become alienated from His will and subject themselves to the destructive forces of sin. The consequences are evident: broken homes, fatherless generations, and spiritual desolation. Yet, God remains steadfast in His love, calling His people back to Him through Jesus Christ.
This teaching explores the role of God as our Eternal Father, the importance of obedience, and the dangers of rebellion. It also highlights the redemptive power of Jesus Christ, who reconciles us to the Father and offers hope to the lost.

GOD AS THE ETERNAL FATHER
Isaiah 64:8
"But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand."
God is not a distant or indifferent deity; He is a loving Father who desires to guide and nurture His children. Unlike earthly fathers who may fail, He is perfect in His love, discipline, and provision. Those who acknowledge Him as their Father receive His direction and protection.
However, many in the world reject this divine relationship. They live in disobedience, seeking their own way rather than submitting to God’s perfect plan. This rejection leads to spiritual ruin and separation from His presence.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF REBELLION
Romans 1:28
"And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done."
Rebellion against God results in spiritual blindness and moral corruption. When individuals and nations turn away from Him, they are left to their own devices, which ultimately lead to destruction.
The current state of the world reflects this reality. Many are consumed by selfishness, perversion, and deception. They fall into the hands of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. But God, in His mercy, continues to call His people to repentance.

THE ROLE OF JESUS CHRIST AS THE MEDIATOR
1 Timothy 2:5
"For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
God, in His infinite love, provided a way for reconciliation through His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the bridge between sinful humanity and the Holy Father. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, restoration, and access to the eternal family of God.
Many who grew up without earthly fathers struggle to relate to God as their Father. They carry wounds of rejection and brokenness. Yet, Jesus offers them healing and an invitation into the divine family, where they are loved and accepted.

THE DANGERS OF WORLDLY AGENDAS
John 10:10
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
The enemy is actively working to destroy the identity and purpose of God’s creation. One of the most devastating attacks is the corruption of the family unit. The transgender agenda, fatherless homes, and the distortion of God’s design are all part of Satan’s scheme to lead people away from God.
Christians must be vigilant, standing firm on biblical truth and rejecting the lies of the enemy. They must also reach out to those who have been deceived, offering them the hope and redemption found in Christ.
