Introduction
The scriptures reveal the righteousness and justice of God, showing how He reacts to both obedience and disobedience. Throughout history, mankind has often turned away from God, rejecting His ways and choosing paths of rebellion. The consequences of such choices are severe, as God will not tolerate defiance forever. In this message, we will explore the consequences of rejecting God, the importance of obedience, and the role of His prophets in calling people back to Him. We will also examine how God's judgments humble the proud and why it is crucial to remain faithful.

Wrath for the Disobedient, Mercy for the Obedient
God’s justice is twofold: wrath for the disobedient and mercy for the obedient. He extends His hand of mercy to those who walk in righteousness but pours out His indignation on those who despise Him. It is by His mercy that we are not consumed, and we must continually thank and praise Him for His grace. However, we must also walk in fear and trembling, ensuring that we do not partake in the sins of those who are under judgment.
Lamentations 3:22-23 - "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 - "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God."

God Sends His Prophets
Even in the darkest times, God raises prophets to declare His truth. When His people were in captivity, He still sent prophets to call them to repentance. Likewise, today He is still sending His servants to warn the world. We are not called to give up, but to remain steadfast and continue declaring His Word, regardless of the resistance we may face.
Jeremiah 1:7-8 - "But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord."
Ezekiel 2:3-5 - "And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them."

God Humbles the Proud
God alone has the power to humble the arrogant. Those who walk in pride, exalting themselves above Him, will be brought low. No man can stand against His mighty hand. The Lord knows how to bring judgment upon the wicked while preserving those who remain faithful.
Proverbs 16:18 - "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
Isaiah 2:11-12 - "The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low."

Conclusion
Let us take heed to God's warnings and walk in obedience, knowing that He is a just and righteous God. We must not take His mercy for granted, but rather, we should live in reverence and gratitude for His grace. The time is near, and His judgments are sure. May we be found faithful in His sight.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 - "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."
