He Will Return, Renew, & Restore His People! By Major Frank Materu

----Main Scripture

"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you." – Joel 2:25 (ESV)

----Introduction

In the midst of persecution, hardships, and suffering, the Living God promises to return, renew, and restore His people. Despite the increasing attacks on believers, who are being persecuted for their identity in Christ, God is ever-present, ready to deliver His people from their afflictions. He assures us that His mercies never cease, and He is committed to bringing us into His safety and security, even when the world seems to grow darker. This message calls for perseverance, trust in God's faithfulness, and the courage to remain true to Him.

----Persecution and the Power of God's Mercy

As the darkness grows and attacks on believers intensify, the world increasingly rejects the light of God's truth. Persecution, imprisonment, and false accusations have become common experiences for those who remain faithful to Christ. Yet, God looks with mercy on His people, especially those who have remained steadfast through their suffering. Despite their hardships, God's people are precious in His sight, and He promises to restore them fully. "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:10)

----God’s Faithfulness in the Midst of Darkness

In these times of chaos and confusion, God calls His people to continue their work in Him, laboring while there is still light. The pressure to give in to despair or join the world’s insanity is strong, but those who remain faithful to God's Word will experience His restoration. God promises His people strength, hope, and the power to overcome the darkness that surrounds them. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:5)

----Restoration and the Power of God’s Spirit

Despite the challenges, God’s people are not meant to give in to fear or hopelessness. Those who continue to trust in the Lord will see His miraculous work in their lives, as He renews their spirit, restores their strength, and blesses them with His goodness. The world may be falling apart, but those who stay true to God’s commands are assured of His eternal promise to provide for them.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." (Psalm 23:1-3)

----The Call to Trust and Rejoice

As the world faces increasing turmoil and suffering, the call to trust in God becomes even more urgent. He invites those who have been wounded, scattered, and torn by the world’s evil to come to Him for restoration. God’s time for renewal is now, and His miracle-working power is at work in the lives of those who trust Him. His love never fails, and He promises to return His people to a place of peace, security, and joy.

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
