Key Scripture: John 16:33 – "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Introduction
In the world today, chaos, wars, and uncertainties have become a daily reality. Nations rise against nations, leaders become intoxicated with power, and the hearts of many are filled with fear and despair. However, as God's people, we are not called to be pained, drained, or chained by the troubles of this world. Instead, we are to live in the assurance that God is in control, and He alone directs the course of history.
The world will always have turmoil because it is under a curse, but the children of God are not to be overcome by its burdens. Instead, we are to remain steadfast in faith, walking in His perfect path, and resting in His promises. This teaching aims to help us understand God’s perspective on world troubles, the consequences of pride and sin, and how we can maintain our peace and security in Him.

The Unchanging Reality of a Troubled World
From the beginning, the world has been plagued by war, suffering, and destruction. Jesus Himself warned that there would always be wars and rumors of wars. This is because humanity, separated from God by sin, continues to repeat the mistakes of the past.
Matthew 24:6 – "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."
Despite peace talks and negotiations, conflicts persist because pride, arrogance, and human wisdom without God lead only to destruction. The pursuit of power, wealth, and dominance blinds leaders and nations to the truth that God alone is sovereign.

The Vanity of Human Strength and Power
Nations and leaders often believe they are invincible, imagining they will rule forever. However, history has proven that no kingdom of man lasts indefinitely. The mighty empires of the past have all fallen, and so will the present ones that exalt themselves against God.
Isaiah 40:15 – "Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing."
Without God, human efforts are futile. Kingdoms rise and fall, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. Those who trust in their own strength will perish, but those who trust in God will remain firm.

The Consequence of Pride and Sin
Sin separates people from God, and as a result, they are given over to confusion, chaos, and destruction. The pride of humanity leads to wars, strife, and endless suffering. This cycle continues because people refuse to humble themselves before God.
Proverbs 16:18 – "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
Those who reject God's ways and refuse to walk in humility eventually reap the consequences of their rebellion. Leaders who boast of their greatness and refuse to acknowledge God will ultimately lead their nations to ruin.

God’s People Are Called to Live in Peace
While the world is filled with turmoil, God’s people are called to live in peace, trusting in His divine protection. Our citizenship is not of this world but of the Kingdom of God. We are not to be overcome by fear but to remain steadfast in faith.
Philippians 3:20 – "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ."
We must remember that our lives are in God's hands, and He is our source of safety and security. Instead of being consumed by the fears and anxieties of this world, we should focus on God's promises and remain steadfast in Him.

God Will Preserve His Remnant
Despite the chaos and destruction, God always preserves a remnant—a people who remain faithful to Him. While many will perish in their sins, those who seek God and walk in His ways will be protected and guided by Him.
Isaiah 26:3 – "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
Even when the world is filled with destruction, God remains faithful to those who trust in Him. He calls His people to separate themselves from the wickedness of the world and walk in His righteousness.

Summary
The world will always be troubled because of sin, pride, and rebellion against God. However, God's people are not called to be victims of these troubles. Instead, we are to walk in faith, trust in His promises, and live in peace. Those who humble themselves before God will be preserved, while those who trust in their own strength will fall.

Prayer of Salvation
If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, today is the day of salvation. Pray this prayer sincerely from your heart:
"Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your mercy. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again on the third day. Today, I surrender my life to You and ask You to be my Lord and Savior. Forgive me, cleanse me, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Lead me in Your ways, and help me to live for You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen."
