STAY CONNECTED TO GOD AND AVOID REJECTION By: Major Frank Materu
Key Scripture:
John 15:5 (KJV) - "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

Introduction
In these turbulent times, when the world is filled with confusion, sin, and darkness, God calls His people to remain steadfast in their connection to Him. The pressures of life, the temptations of the world, and the influence of demonic forces seek to pull believers away from their divine calling. However, God's Word makes it clear that our survival, blessings, and eternal destiny depend on staying connected to Him.
When we maintain our relationship with God, we walk in His light, truth, and mercy. Conversely, those who turn away from Him are drawn into sin, deception, and ultimately, eternal rejection. This teaching emphasizes the importance of remaining faithful to God, resisting the temptations of the world, and living a life that brings glory to Him.

God Commands Us to Stay Focused on Him
Colossians 3:2 (KJV) - "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
The Lord desires that we keep our eyes fixed upon Him. This world is full of distractions, and the enemy constantly seeks to shift our focus away from God. When we allow ourselves to be consumed by the affairs of this life, we risk losing sight of our eternal purpose.
The heathen rage against God, following after their own desires and false gods. Their rebellion leads them into delusion and destruction. As believers, we must remain committed to serving the One true God and not be enticed by the false promises of the world.

The Consequences of Yielding to Sin
James 1:14-15 (KJV) - "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."
Sin has devastating consequences. When individuals yield to the desires of the flesh and demonic influences, they become enslaved by corruption. Many who once walked in the ways of the Lord have fallen because they allowed sin to take root in their hearts.
God has never changed His standards to accommodate human sinfulness. Those who seek to befriend the world while claiming to love God deceive themselves. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. We must choose holiness and righteousness over the fleeting pleasures of sin.

Blessings for Those Who Remain Faithful
Deuteronomy 28:1 (KJV) - "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth."
Throughout history, God has always blessed those who remain faithful to Him. His protection, provision, and favor rest upon those who walk in obedience. When we stay connected to God, we experience His peace, joy, and guidance.
However, disobedience leads to curses and destruction. Those who turn away from God bring trouble upon themselves. The path of righteousness requires commitment, but the rewards are eternal.

Avoiding Spiritual Isolation and Backsliding
Hebrews 10:25 (KJV) - "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
One of the tactics of the enemy is to isolate believers and lead them into spiritual slumber. Many fall into sin because they neglect their fellowship with God and other believers. When people take “spiritual vacations” from their faith, they drift away and become vulnerable to temptation.
To avoid spiritual backsliding, we must stay immersed in prayer, study of the Word, and fellowship with the body of Christ. We need a continuous infilling of the Holy Spirit to sustain our walk with God.

Summary
The times we live in demand unwavering commitment to God. The world is growing darker, and sin is increasing. Yet, God remains the same, calling His people to holiness and faithfulness. Those who stay connected to Him will receive His blessings, while those who stray will face consequences.

Conclusion
Staying connected to God is not an option—it is a necessity. The broad way leads to destruction, but the narrow way leads to life. Every believer must choose to remain in Christ, resisting the pressures and temptations of the world. God is calling us to steadfastness, holiness, and obedience.

Prayer of Salvation
If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ or if you have strayed from Him and want to return, pray this prayer from your heart:
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I confess that I am a sinner and that I have fallen short of Your glory. I repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for my sins, and that He rose again on the third day. I surrender my life to You and ask Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to walk in Your ways. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, welcome to the family of God! Stay connected to Him, study His Word, and grow in faith. May God bless you abundantly!
