The Eternal God and His Eagle Soldiers By: General James Green

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding” (Isaiah 40:28).

What a mighty God we serve—the eternal Creator of everything! The LORD is sovereign over all, governing time, matter, and space according to His divine will. He alone rules supreme, all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-powerful. Our God is entirely self-sufficient and immovable in His righteousness.

God has been gathering a people for Himself, sending them into the world as witnesses and servants to extend His Kingdom and build up Christ’s Body. His eternal nature surpasses all events of time while being present in every moment of history. No other deity or religion can claim such a glorious truth. The universe itself bears witness to His authority.

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength” (Isaiah 40:29). This verse is a promise for all weary Christians laboring for Christ. When the demands of life exhaust us, God provides the strength we need. His power is available to the repentant and those who labor in His name.

Even the young grow weary, and we see both Christian and non-Christian youth struggling. But with God's power, we can persevere through trials and remain steadfast. Despite the trials, God’s strength will outlast our adversaries. Though the enemies of righteousness may win some battles, they will ultimately lose in God’s enduring war.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

Waiting upon the LORD means trusting Him for strength. It is not passive but an active, eager anticipation of His power. Just as the eagle soars high and renews its strength, we too can rise above challenges and renew our vitality through faith in God.

We are called to be God’s eagle soldiers—empowered and resilient. Our strength comes from waiting on the LORD, serving Him faithfully, and remaining steadfast in our mission. As we serve and wait on God, He will renew our strength and enable us to face the challenges ahead.

The eagle, with its swiftness, high flight, and keen eyesight, symbolizes the renewal and vigor we receive from God. As the eagle renews its youth through moulting, so God renews our strength.

“Thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s” (Psalm 103:5). Let us embrace the strength and vitality that God provides, becoming His eagle soldiers who soar with renewed strength and purpose. Amen.
