IN THIS HOUR, THE HARVEST WILL INCREASE ALONG WITH GOD\'S WRATH By Major Frank Materu

Key Scripture: Isaiah 26:9

"With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness."

INTRODUCTION

We are living in perilous times when the world has turned away from God, embracing lawlessness, rebellion, and wickedness. Men have become high-minded, proud, and foolish, believing they can live without the fear of the Lord. However, God is neither blind nor silent. In this hour, He is revealing His wrath upon the nations, shaking the foundations of the earth, and bringing men to the realization of their desperate need for Him.

It is in this context that the harvest of souls will increase. As God's judgments are released upon the world, many will come running to Him, desperate for refuge. The very wrath that devastates the proud will humble the repentant, bringing them to salvation. This message calls for believers to stand firm, rejoice in God's justice, and labor in the harvest fields, for the time is now.

GOD'S WRATH IS REVEALED TO BRING REPENTANCE

Romans 1:18

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness."

God's wrath is not without purpose. It is a tool of divine justice, intended to bring sinners to the awareness of their need for salvation. For too long, men have lived in complacency, imagining that they are secure in their own ways. But now, God is shaking the world so that people will look inside and see their emptiness. Many who thought they were right with God will realize their desperate spiritual poverty and cry out for mercy.

THE HARVEST WILL COME THROUGH TRIBULATION

Joel 3:13

"Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great."

The increase of sin has brought about the increase of God's judgment. However, in the midst of destruction and despair, the harvest of souls will emerge. Many will turn to God, not out of comfort, but out of sheer desperation. The devastation will strip away their self-sufficiency, leaving them with no other option but to seek the Lord. God will use the very calamities that men have brought upon themselves to bring them into His kingdom.

THE TIME FOR COMPROMISE IS OVER

Revelation 3:16

"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

God is removing the middle ground. Those who have been double-minded will no longer be able to live in complacency. His wrath will force people to make a decision—to fully surrender to Him or to perish in their rebellion. The time for compromise is over, and the call to holiness is now louder than ever. Those who truly belong to God must stand firm and reject the corruption of the world.

GOD IS BRINGING DOWN THE PROUD

Proverbs 16:18

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

The arrogance of men has reached its peak, and God is responding by humbling the proud. Nations, rulers, and individuals who have exalted themselves above God will be brought low. The systems of this world that have promoted rebellion against God will collapse under the weight of divine justice. Yet, those who humble themselves before the Lord will find refuge in Him.

THE CALL TO LABOR IN THE HARVEST

Matthew 9:37-38

"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."

As God's wrath unfolds, the church must not stand idle. This is the hour for believers to rise up and work in the harvest fields. Many will be searching for hope, and we must be ready to lead them to Christ. We are called to be the light in the midst of darkness, guiding lost souls into the saving grace of God.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

If you have not yet given your life to Christ, pray this prayer sincerely:

Heavenly Father, I come before You acknowledging that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died for my sins, and that He rose again on the third day. Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and ask You to come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior, and lead me in Your ways. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live a life that pleases You. I surrender my life to You today. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
