Key Scripture:

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

INTRODUCTION

In these times of uncertainty and turmoil, fear has become a dominant force controlling the lives of many. Governments, leaders, and those in power often use fear as a tool to manipulate and oppress people. However, fear is not from God. It is a demonic force that brings torment, bondage, and destruction. As believers, we are called to reject fear and walk in faith, trusting in God’s power, love, and wisdom. Fear leads to doubt, and doubt leads to separation from God. Those who choose to live in fear ultimately find themselves in torment, both in this life and in eternity. This teaching seeks to help us understand why we must reject fear and embrace faith, walking in the peace and assurance that God provides.

FEAR: A TOOL OF THE ENEMY

"The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe." – Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV)

Fear is one of Satan’s most effective weapons. It enslaves people, making them vulnerable to deception and control. Many wicked rulers throughout history have used fear to dominate others, keeping them in submission. However, God's will is for His people to live in freedom, not in bondage to fear. The Bible warns that the fearful will not inherit the Kingdom of God but will instead face eternal damnation (Revelation 21:8). Fear leads to compromise, and compromise leads to destruction.

THE DANGERS OF FEARFUL LEADERSHIP

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan." – Proverbs 29:2 (NKJV)

World leaders who are driven by fear often become oppressors. They fear losing their power, which causes them to impose harsh and unjust restrictions on their people. This leads to rebellion, bloodshed, and destruction. The struggle for power only creates more suffering. But God’s people are not called to live under the dominion of wicked rulers. Instead, we are to recognize that God is our ultimate authority, and His rule brings peace.

FAITH AS THE CURE FOR FEAR

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." – Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)

Faith is the antidote to fear. When we trust in God, we are not easily shaken by the chaos around us. God’s Word encourages us to be courageous and steadfast in our faith. Fear weakens us, but faith empowers us. When we rely on God’s promises, we walk in victory rather than defeat.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF LIVING IN FEAR

"Fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." – 1 John 4:18 (NKJV)

Those who live in fear experience constant torment. They wake up in fear, go to bed in fear, and live miserable, hopeless lives. Fear separates people from the joy and peace that God intends for them. Even worse, fear can lead to eternal separation from God, as those who refuse to trust Him will ultimately be lost.

CHOOSING FAITH OVER FEAR

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." – Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)

God calls us to reject fear and embrace faith. Every day, we must make a conscious decision to trust God rather than be consumed by fear. Faith allows us to live in peace, knowing that God is in control. When fear tries to rise up, we must REFUSE, REBUKE, and REFUTE it in Jesus' name.
