INTRODUCTION
Dependency on God is the foundation of a successful Christian life. Many claim to be followers of Christ, yet their reliance is on worldly systems, their own strength, or the opinions of others. However, true faith calls for complete trust in God and obedience to His Spirit. The world is unpredictable, full of sin, and governed by self-interest, but God remains unchanging and sovereign. The necessity of total dependence on Him cannot be overstated, as it determines not only our earthly path but also our eternal destiny.
Jesus Himself, during His earthly ministry, demonstrated absolute dependency on the Father. He lived in obedience, led by the Holy Spirit, and fulfilled the will of God completely. As believers, we are called to do the same. Our faith should not be casual or conditional, but steadfast and unwavering, recognizing that apart from God, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

THE DANGER OF DEPENDING ON THE WORLD
1 John 2:15-17 - "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever."
Many who profess to be Christians still place their trust in worldly systems, wealth, and human wisdom. The world offers false security, empty promises, and temporary satisfaction. Dependency on the world leads to disappointment, sin, and ultimately, separation from God. The world is full of corruption, deception, and destruction. Trusting in it is like building a house on sinking sand (Matthew 7:26-27).

THE IMPORTANCE OF TOTAL RELIANCE ON GOD
Psalm 62:7-8 - "My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge."
God desires that His people place their full confidence in Him. Dependency on God brings peace, direction, and divine provision. Unlike the world, God never fails. He is our refuge, our provider, and our sustainer. Walking in faith means trusting Him even when circumstances seem uncertain. Those who depend on God are secure in His promises and experience His supernatural guidance.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF PARTIAL DEPENDENCE
Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."
Some believers attempt to divide their trust between God and worldly systems. They pray but also rely on their own strength. They claim faith but hesitate to obey the Holy Spirit’s leading. Such double-mindedness leads to instability and spiritual weakness (James 1:6-8). Without full commitment to God, people find themselves trapped in fear, anxiety, and eventual compromise.

DEPENDENCY ON GOD BRINGS VICTORY
2 Corinthians 12:9 - "But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
When we fully depend on God, we experience His power in our lives. Victory is not achieved through human effort but through surrender to God’s will. Even in times of trials and suffering, God’s grace is sufficient. Those who trust in Him will never be put to shame (Romans 10:11).

SUMMARY
The necessity of dependency on God is critical for every believer. Trusting in the world leads to instability, deception, and destruction. Only by fully relying on God can we walk in His perfect will and experience His blessings. Those who seek human approval over God’s will find themselves lost, but those who depend on God walk in wisdom and victory.

CONCLUSION
God desires a relationship with His people that is based on faith and dependency on Him. The world offers false security, but true security is found in God alone. Those who remain steadfast in their trust in Him will be strengthened, guided, and ultimately rewarded with eternal life.

SALVATION PRAYER
If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, now is the time. Pray this prayer with sincerity:
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I repent of my sins and turn to You. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day. Today, I surrender my life to You and accept You as my Lord and Savior. Lead me by Your Spirit and help me to depend on You in all things. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
