Introduction
Trouble is a reality of life, especially in a fallen world, but for those who belong to the Lord, it is not the end of the story. God’s desire is that we trust Him, call upon Him, and find refuge in His unchanging presence. Today, we dive deep into the truth that God is our Help, even in the most turbulent times.
This teaching reminds us to reject pride, self-reliance, and the lies of the enemy. Instead, we must anchor ourselves in God’s Word and depend on the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Only by trusting Him will we be able to overcome the troubles that surround us.

Look to God, Not the World
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) — "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
God commands us to look to Him in every circumstance. In a world filled with troubles, confusion, and delusion, it is easy to be overwhelmed. Yet, we are called to focus on Him, trusting in His power and promises rather than being consumed by the chaos of the world.
The enemy will attempt to distract us with fear, pride, and self-reliance, but God’s Word is clear: He alone is our help and refuge.

The Consequences of Pride and Self-Reliance
Proverbs 16:18 (KJV) — "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
Pride is a subtle and dangerous trap. It deceives people into thinking they can handle life’s challenges on their own. The demonic forces of pride lead individuals into rebellion against God, causing them to reject His guidance and fall into destruction.
God warns us to guard our hearts against pride and to seek the Holy Spirit’s help in exposing hidden sins. Only by humbling ourselves can we remain in His will and receive His help in times of trouble.

The Guidance of the Holy Spirit
John 16:13 (NIV) — "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth."
God has not left His people alone to navigate the challenges of this world. He has given us the Holy Spirit as our guide, comforter, and helper. In times of trouble, the Spirit leads us on a plain path, protecting us from the deception and destruction that the enemy seeks to bring.
It is vital to remain sensitive to the Spirit’s voice and resist the temptation to follow the lies of the enemy. By relying on the Spirit’s guidance, we can walk confidently, even in the midst of chaos.

The Danger of Listening to Deceptive Voices
1 John 4:1 (NIV) — "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God."
The world is full of deceptive voices, and many are led astray by demonic lies. These voices often appeal to pride, ambition, and self-centered desires. God warns us to discern the source of what we hear and to align ourselves with His Word and Spirit.
The enemy’s goal is to kill, steal, and destroy, but God provides discernment to those who seek Him. Stay rooted in prayer and Scripture to avoid being misled.

God’s Refuge in Troublesome Times
Psalm 91:2 (NIV) — "I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’"
God is a place of safety and strength for His people. In times of trouble, He invites us to find refuge in Him rather than succumbing to fear or despair. As we trust in Him, He provides the peace and guidance we need to navigate life’s challenges.
Troubles may come, but they do not have the final say. God’s power and presence are greater than any trial we may face.
