Fear often grips us in the journey of life, especially when faced with the unknown or the attacks of the enemy. Yet, as believers, we are reminded of God’s unwavering presence and protection. He assures us that He is not only our guide but also our rear guard—the One who has our back. Through obedience and faith, we are not only called to rise but to walk in victory.

God Is Your Rear Guard

Isaiah 52:12 “For the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”

God’s role as a rear guard means that He protects us from the unseen attacks that often come from behind. Just as the spine is crucial for physical strength and stability, so is God’s protection vital for our spiritual journey. When the enemy launches attacks to destabilize us, God stands firm as our protector, ensuring that we remain upright and unshaken.

Do Not Fear the Fiery Darts

Ephesians 6:16 “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.”

Fear is the enemy’s weapon to paralyze believers. However, God has equipped us with spiritual weaponry to counter these attacks. Through faith and the Word of God, we can extinguish the fiery darts of the enemy and remain steadfast. Refuse to accept defeat, for God’s strength is greater than any force that comes against you.

Rise Up Through Spiritual Warfare

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

We are called to engage in spiritual warfare, not with physical weapons but with prayer, the Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit. The enemy’s lies and fiery darts are meant to keep us down, but through spiritual discipline and obedience, we rise above the attacks and fight back with the authority given to us in Jesus’ name.

Refute the Lies of the Enemy

John 8:44 “When he [the devil] lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

The enemy’s greatest weapon is deception. Many believers fall into defeat because they accept the lies of the enemy rather than standing on the truth of God’s Word. Refuse to be covered by the enemy’s lies; instead, declare the promises of God and see His power manifest in your life.

Obedience Unlocks Victory

Philippians 2:8-9 “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name.”

Jesus’ victory over death was a result of His unwavering obedience to the Father. Similarly, our victory is tied to our obedience to God’s commands. Through obedience to the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to rise above wounds, challenges, and attacks to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
