PERVERSION CELEBRATION By Major Frank Materu

Key Scripture: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20, NIV)

Introduction

The Lord is grieved by the growing acceptance and celebration of immorality, even among those who claim to be His people. As the world continues to descend into the depths of moral decay, many have turned away from the righteous path, embracing and elevating ungodly practices. This message serves as a clarion call to repentance and a warning against the dire consequences of allowing perversion to infiltrate our lives, our families, and our communities. God desires His people to walk in holiness, rejecting the ways of the heathen and embracing His truth.

God's People Must Reject Perversion

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2, NIV)

The celebration of immorality within the body of Christ is a grave offense against God. Many who profess to follow Him have turned a blind eye to sin, allowing perversion to take root and spread. The Lord calls His people to remain separate from the world and to refuse any association with practices that defile His name.

The Consequences of Celebrating Sin

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.” (Romans 1:18, NIV)

When we tolerate and celebrate sin, we invite God’s judgment. The permissiveness of this generation has led to spiritual contamination, bringing about destruction and desolation. Those who embrace perversion will be handed over to their lusts, becoming enslaved by the very sins they have chosen to exalt.

God's Standard of Holiness

“Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16, NIV)

Holiness is not an option for believers; it is a command. God calls His people to live lives that reflect His character and glory. This means rejecting all forms of uncleanness and choosing to walk in obedience to His Word. The highway of holiness is the path God has prepared for those who desire to walk uprightly before Him.

The Call to Repentance

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV)

God’s mercy is still available to those who will humble themselves and turn away from their wicked ways. The Lord is calling His people to repent and be cleansed of the spiritual filth that has defiled their hearts and lives. True repentance requires a complete turning away from sin and a renewed commitment to God’s righteous ways.

Summary

The celebration of perversion is a direct rebellion against God’s holiness. The permissive attitude toward sin within the church and society has brought about spiritual decay and divine judgment. God’s people are called to reject the ways of the world, uphold His standard of holiness, and walk in obedience to His commands.

Conclusion

The time has come for the church to rise and shine as a beacon of truth in a dark and perverse generation.
