PROTECT, PROVIDE, & PRESERVE! By Major Frank Materu
Key Scripture: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:1-3, NKJV)

Introduction
God's desire for His people is to experience His protection, provision, and preservation. These promises are not just for survival but for abundant life in Him. Yet, these blessings come when we remain in obedience to His Word and commands. The question is, are we fully embracing the covering of God, or are we distracted by the corrupt ways of the world? This teaching focuses on understanding how God protects, provides for, and preserves His faithful ones, even in the midst of turmoil, trials, and temptations.

God's Protection Over His People
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10, NKJV)
God is a shield to His people, providing a covering that keeps them safe from the schemes of the enemy. When we stay under His protection, we are secure, even as the world faces chaos. However, stepping outside of His will exposes us to dangers and temptations that can lead to destruction. True protection comes from living a life fully surrendered to God.

The Provision of God in Times of Need
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19, NKJV)
God is our provider, meeting not only our physical needs but also our spiritual and emotional ones. He cares for His children and ensures that they lack nothing as long as they walk in obedience to Him. Those who stray from His ways may experience temporary pleasures, but they will ultimately lack the true riches that come from God’s provision.

The Preservation of the Faithful
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.” (Jude 1:24, NKJV)
God preserves those who remain faithful to Him. He keeps His people from falling into sin and sustains them through life’s challenges. Preservation does not mean the absence of trials but the assurance of God’s presence and guidance. His preservation leads to eternal life, even when the world is embroiled in sin and destruction.

Resisting the Corruption of the World
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2, NKJV)
The world is filled with corruption, from leaders to individuals who disregard God’s commands. Believers must resist the temptations and enticements of the enemy, staying alert to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. A life lived in obedience to God is one of peace, while a life lived in rebellion leads to destruction and despair.

The Cost of Sin and the Reward of Righteousness
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23, NKJV)
Sin always comes with consequences, leaving scars and leading to death. However, God’s mercy offers forgiveness and restoration to those who repent. While sin’s effects may linger, God’s grace enables us to live a victorious life in Him. Righteousness brings peace, joy, and eternal rewards that cannot be found in the fleeting pleasures of sin.

Living Under God’s Covering
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1, NKJV)
Staying under God’s covering ensures peace, even in a world filled with turmoil. Believers must cultivate an attitude of gratitude, trusting in God’s promises rather than living in fear. His covering shields us from the terror and unrest that consume the wicked.
