Labor While There is Light! By Major Frank Materu

----Main Scripture

"I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work." (John 9:4, NKJV)

----Introduction

The urgency to labor for God’s Kingdom while the opportunity exists cannot be overstated. As dark clouds loom over the horizon, threatening to shroud the world in spiritual darkness, believers are called to persevere in proclaiming the gospel. This call is not one of fear but of courage and obedience to God’s command.

In these perilous times, there is a great need to rescue souls from the impending darkness by pointing them to the Light of Christ. This article explores the necessity of working for God’s Kingdom, resisting deception, and remaining steadfast in bearing witness to the Truth.

----The Urgency of Laboring in the Light

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:58, NKJV)

The time to labor for the Kingdom of God is now, while there is still light. Jesus Himself emphasized the importance of doing the works of God while it is day, for the night is coming when no one can work (John 9:4). As believers, we must not allow the fear of looming darkness to paralyze us. Instead, we are called to intensify our efforts, sharing the gospel and bringing souls into the light.

When we obey God’s commands, we participate in His eternal plan, saving souls from eternal damnation and pointing them to the hope found in Christ.

----The Consequences of Rejecting the Light

"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." (John 3:19, NKJV)

Many reject the truth and choose to live in darkness, preferring sin over the life-giving light of Christ. Such choices lead to desolation, isolation, and ultimately eternal separation from God. Those who refuse to repent and adhere to God’s instructions remain bound by sin and its consequences.

However, for those who hear the truth, repent, and embrace the light, there is great rejoicing. They are delivered from Hell’s Harvest and brought into the kingdom of God, where they can partake of His mercy and everlasting life.

----Resisting Deception and Staying True

"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." (Ephesians 5:15-16, NKJV)

In a world filled with beguiling spirits and rampant deception, believers must remain alert and discerning. The enemy seeks to lead many into confusion, delusion, and spiritual madness. To combat this, we are called to adhere to the Holy Spirit, walking in truth and rejecting the falsehoods that surround us.

By staying true to God, we can avoid the endless maze of deception and instead find joy and assurance in His Word.

----Bearing Witness to the Truth

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8, NKJV)

Believers are commissioned to be true witnesses for God’s Kingdom, regardless of the circumstances. Ceasing to proclaim the gospel out of fear or discouragement is a grave mistake, as it leaves the blood of the lost on our hands. Conversely, those who remain faithful in bearing witness will be blessed, having fulfilled their calling.

As we labor for God’s Kingdom, we must remember that the ultimate goal is to lead souls to Christ. Those who labor in the light are children of the light and will be welcomed into eternal glory.

----Conclusion

The call to Labor While There is Light is a solemn and urgent one. As John 9:4 reminds us, “the night is coming when no one can work.” Therefore, we must make the most of every opportunity to share the gospel, save souls, and glorify God.

By resisting deception, staying true to God’s Word, and bearing witness to the truth, we fulfill our divine mandate and partake in the joy of seeing lives transformed. Let us labor with unwavering faith, knowing that as we work in the light, we are loved by God and are advancing His eternal Kingdom.
