Introduction
God’s Spirit brings life, and as His people, we are called to cooperate with Him in everything. This cooperation involves sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading, a heart that is willing to humble itself, and a commitment to move in alignment with God’s desires. Through this partnership with the Holy Spirit, we experience transformation, deliverance, and redemption.
1. Humbling Ourselves Before God
When we submit to the Holy Spirit, we are choosing to humble ourselves just as the prophets of old did. Their practices of fasting, praying, and travailing show us the path of true devotion. God desires an obedient spirit, a people who are willing to follow His lead without resistance. This is the key to seeing God move mightily in our lives.
Supporting Scripture:
- James 4:10
- 2 Chronicles 7:14
2. Confidence in God, Not in Circumstances
When we place our confidence in God, we are assured that we will never be ashamed. Our confidence should not be in the circumstances around us, but in the God who governs all things. The enemy seeks to pull us down, making us resemble the animalistic nature of the world, but we are created in God’s image. We must strive to take on His attributes, reflecting His holiness and godliness.
Supporting Scripture:
- Isaiah 28:16
- Philippians 3:3
3. The Privilege of Coming Higher
God gives us the privilege to rise above earthly limitations and enter into a realm where we reflect His glory. We are children of light, called to shine in a world that desperately needs His light. God is calling us to live according to our higher calling, which transcends earthly desires and worldly distractions.
Supporting Scripture:
- Ephesians 5:8
- 1 Peter 2:9
4. The Multitude of God’s Mercies
When we realize the vastness of God’s mercies, our response should be one of constant thanksgiving and praise. It is easy to complain and murmur, but as we focus on the goodness of God, our hearts will be full of gratitude. Praise removes hindrances, and thankfulness invites God's presence and blessings into our lives.
Supporting Scripture:
- Psalm 136:1
- Lamentations 3:22-23
5. Perfect Peace Through Submission to God
True peace comes when we submit ourselves to God’s will. The world offers many distractions, but restlessness is the result of pursuing things outside God’s plan. When we quiet our hearts, like a weaned child, and accept God's will with thanksgiving, we will find contentment and peace that surpasses understanding.
Supporting Scripture:
- Philippians 4:6-7
- Isaiah 26:3
6. Embrace God’s Will, Even in Times of Change
God’s perfect peace surrounds His people when they walk in obedience. If God leads us through seasons of suffering or change, we must trust that it is for our perfection. Everything in this world is temporary, but the fulfillment of God's plan for our lives is eternal. Let us be open to the new dimensions He brings, knowing that He is always working for our good.
Supporting Scripture:
- Romans 8:28
- 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
Conclusion
God desires to keep His people in His perfect peace, protected from the enemy’s schemes. We are called to be a humble, obedient people, sensitive to His Spirit and willing to move in His direction. The challenges we face are opportunities for growth and transformation, as we allow God’s Spirit to lead us into His perfect will. Embrace His presence, give thanks, and trust His guidance.
