WISDOM AND PEACE By: Major. Frank Materu

Key Scripture: James 1:5

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Introduction:

Life often presents us with challenges that demand sound decisions and profound wisdom.

Wisdom is not merely the accumulation of knowledge but the ability to apply it in ways that glorify God and benefit others.

In His boundless grace, God invites us to ask for wisdom whenever we need it, with the assurance that He will provide generously without judgment.

This is an incredible gift, but it requires humility to acknowledge that God is the ultimate source of all wisdom.

Godly Wisdom:

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10).

The wisdom that comes from God is vastly different from worldly wisdom.

While the world relies on human intellect and experience, Godly wisdom illuminates the path to life and brings true peace.

God desires that His people rely on His wisdom to be guided by His light.

Benefits of Asking for Wisdom.

Divine Guidance:

God directs us through life’s challenges and tough decisions.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you” (Psalm 32:8).

Inner Peace: When we seek God’s wisdom, He calms our hearts and strengthens us.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Avoiding Downfalls:

Pride leads to ruin, but God’s wisdom cultivates humility and stability.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).

Dangers of Relying on Human Wisdom:

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12).

Relying solely on human wisdom often leads to decisions that seem right in the moment but ultimately result in chaos and harm.

Many people in today’s generation have dismissed God’s wisdom, choosing instead to follow the fleeting insights of the world, which often lead to despair.

Learning from Others:

It’s not uncommon to see individuals who grew up in the truth of God but later rejected it for worldly paths.

By abandoning God’s wisdom, they forfeited the peace and joy that comes from walking in His ways.

How Wisdom Leads to God’s Purpose?

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God’s wisdom transcends time and circumstances.

When we humble ourselves before Him and seek His guidance, He leads us into the greater purposes of our lives.

In doing so, we experience lives filled with peace, joy, and hope.

Steps to Receive God’s Wisdom:

Pray Humbly:

God responds to those who approach Him with pure hearts.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7).

Have Faith:

When asking for wisdom, believe that God will answer your prayer.

"But let him ask in faith, with no doubting" (James 1:6).

Learn from God:

God often imparts wisdom through Scripture, prayer, and life experiences.

Conclusion:

God’s wisdom is a priceless treasure available to all who humbly seek it.

When we are willing to receive His direction, He leads us into paths of life and abundant peace.

The living God delights in blessing His people with His wisdom.
