Every generation has its mockers—those who ridicule truth, despise instruction, and make light of the things of God. The rise of scoffers in these last days is no surprise, for Scripture has already warned us.
“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.” (2 Peter 3:3)
Mockers live as though they will never be accountable for their actions. They laugh at holiness, dismiss repentance, and exalt their own ways above the counsel of God. But their end is sure, for scoffing is not a sign of wisdom but of blindness. Those who mock God’s way have already taken steps down the broad road that leads to destruction.

The Broad Way of Enticements
The broad way is filled with countless enticements designed to lure the foolish into destruction. These enticements appeal to the flesh, promising pleasure, independence, or superiority. They are traps set by demons to keep souls blinded until it is too late.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Those who refuse God’s correction often imagine themselves free, but in reality, they are enslaved by sin. The broad way is easy to enter and popular to follow, but its end is wretchedness. The multitudes who walk in this path are driven by pride, despising instruction and correction. They believe they are superior, yet in truth, they are inferior to the wisdom of God.

The Folly of Pride
Pride is one of the most dangerous sins, for it blinds people to truth and hardens their hearts against God. The proud imagine themselves to be wise, but their wisdom is foolishness before the Lord.

The folly of pride is that it convinces people they do not need God, His Word, or His correction. Those who live in pride resist the Holy Spirit, despise godly instruction, and embrace the lie of superiority. The consequence of pride is always ruin. Scripture is filled with examples: Lucifer was cast out of heaven, Pharaoh was destroyed in his arrogance, and King Nebuchadnezzar was humbled until he acknowledged God’s sovereignty.
Those who die in pride enter eternity as fools, discovering too late that the broad way they embraced leads directly to hell.

It is senseless to live as a fool, die as a fool, and spend eternity as a fool, yet multitudes take such a course. They reject God’s commands because they despise being told what to do, not realizing that demons are already dictating their lives. In hell, there are no second chances, no reprieves, and no escape. The souls who mocked God on earth find themselves eternally separated from Him, dwelling in the habitation of the damned.

God’s way is the way of safety, sanity, and purpose. It surpasses all human philosophies, for the wisdom of the world is foolishness before Him.
