DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS FROM GOD By Major. Frank Materu
Introduction
God has called His people into a time of battle, not a time of peace.
He desires that we align our hearts, minds, and spirits with Him to walk in obedience and victory.
These divine instructions emphasize trust, unity, and unwavering focus on the Lord. As believers, we are soldiers in God's army, and victory depends on our ability to follow His strategies with faith and diligence.
Key Scripture: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." (Ephesians 6:10-11)
1. Focus on God Alone
God calls His people to fix their hearts, minds, and eyes on Him, unwaveringly.
Turning to the left or the right leads to distraction and vulnerability.
We must capture every thought and make it obedient to Christ.
Key Scripture:
"We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)
"Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Action Points:
Guard your thoughts and keep them aligned with God's Word.
Stay focused on His purpose, even in challenging times.
Acknowledge God in every decision, seeking His face for guidance.
2. Unity in the Body of Christ
A divided army cannot stand. God commands His people to walk in peace and unity with one another, for the strength of His army lies in their harmony.
Division, gossip, and internal conflict weaken the body and give room for the enemy to infiltrate.
Key Scripture:
"If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." (Mark 3:25)
"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." (Ephesians 4:3)
Action Points:
Foster peace among believers, avoiding disputes and bitterness.
Strengthen relationships through love, understanding, and forgiveness.
Stand together as one body, ready to fight the spiritual battles ahead.
3. Obedience is NonNegotiable
God's battle strategies may not always be clear to us, but He does not require us to understand them—He requires us to obey.
Obedience to God’s voice and Spirit is crucial, as it ensures that we remain aligned with His divine will.
Key Scripture:
"To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams." (1 Samuel 15:22)
"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land." (Isaiah 1:19)
Action Points:
Listen attentively to God's instructions through prayer and His Word.
Act promptly when He gives you a directive, whether through His Spirit or His messengers.
Trust that God’s plans, even when unclear, will lead to victory.
4. Commitment and Total Surrender
Victory in battle demands full dedication to God. This includes surrendering our hearts, lives, and plans to Him, allowing Him to lead every step. Halfheartedness has no place in the army of the Lord.
Key Scripture:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." (Deuteronomy 6:5)
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)
Action Points:
Commit your entire being—heart, soul, and mind—to God's service.
Seek His guidance in every decision, big or small.
Trust Him fully, knowing that He fights for you.
5. Prepare for the Costs of Battle
God reminds His people that battle brings challenges. Wounds, opposition, and sacrifices are inevitable.
However, those who remain steadfast in Him will experience victory.
Key Scripture:
"In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Action Points:
Prepare your heart for trials, knowing they are part of the journey.
Trust that God will bring healing and restoration from every wound.
Hold on to His promises of victory, even when the battle feels overwhelming.
6. Secure the Covering of God's Protection
Victory in spiritual battles requires abiding in the safety of God's provision. His presence is our refuge, and His armor is our defense.
Key Scripture:
"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." (Psalm 91:1)
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." (Ephesians 6:11)
Action Points:
Spend time in God’s presence daily through prayer and worship.
Equip yourself with His Word, which is the sword of the Spirit.
Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is your shield.
Conclusion
The call to battle is clear: fix your eyes on God, walk in unity, obey without hesitation, and surrender fully to His will. The journey will not be without challenges, but those who trust in the Lord will see victory.
God’s army is strong, not because of human strength, but because of divine power and unwavering obedience.
As we march forward in this spiritual battle, let us hold firmly to God’s promises, united in purpose and strengthened by His Spirit.
Victory is certain for those who remain faithful, for "if God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
Together, let us rise as soldiers of Christ, ready to fight the good fight, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. (1 Samuel 17:47)
