MILITANT CHRISTIANITY **by General James Green**

The Bible is full of military terminology, yet many Christians persist in thinking that the body of Christ is not supposed to be a militant force, waging **aggressive warfare against the kingdom of Hell**. Too many Christians believe only a part of the body of Christ is called to fight against sin. This subtle lie from the devil has pacified Christians, making it easy for them to say, “**Spiritual warfare is not for me!**” But the Bible clearly states that there is **only ONE body of Christ** and **only ONE type of Christian**, and those Christians are to be clothed with the **whole armor of God** (1 Corinthians 12:13 & Ephesians 6:10-11). Without the full armor of God, parts of their body are left vulnerable to attack!

Imagine a natural soldier, clothed with only part of his armor, going out to battle. His opponent would aim directly at those unprotected, vulnerable parts to wound or kill him. This is exactly what’s happening with many Christians today—they have believed the lie that **only part of the body of Christ is called to spiritual warfare**, and because they refuse to suit up with the armor God has provided, they’ve left themselves vulnerable to Satan’s attacks. As long as this delusion persists, **ignorant and deceived Christians will continue to be maimed and destroyed** by the fiery darts of the enemy and the powers of sin, rendering them useless in the great war for the souls of men.

**The Body of Christ Is Called to War**

Does the roaring lion seek to devour only part of the Body of Christ? Should only part of the body resist the temptations of the devil while the other parts succumb? It’s high time we face the fact that **God hasn’t called us to giddy church gatherings, singles’ nights, or Jesus rock concerts**. He has called us to **WAR against the works of darkness**, both in our personal lives and in the world around us. As Christians, we are to be vigilant soldiers, carrying out our commission at any cost, obeying the command to take Jesus to all the world.

We are called **soldiers** (2 Timothy 2:3-4), and we have been given **spiritual weapons and armor** (Ephesians 6:10-18), led by **Jesus Christ, our Captain** (Hebrews 2:9-10). What else can you call the Church but a militant body? If anyone claims to be part of this body, they had better prepare for battle or **run and join the enemy’s ranks**. The Body of Christ is a **militant, aggressive spiritual army**—anything else is a counterfeit!

**True Love: Fighting for Souls**

Many ask, **“Where is your love?”** Jesus’ example of love was engaging in a battle to the death with Satan for our souls. **True love isn’t spending hours in front of a TV**, wasting time and money in shopping malls, sports arenas, or recreational outings. True love isn’t covering over sin with false human compassion while souls pour into Hell. Jesus’ example of love was **sacrificing His life on the battlefield** called Earth to liberate us from the tyranny of sin, Satan, and death—not so we could make excuses like, “God has called me to spend eight years in college,” or, “God has called me to be a housewife.” These are **empty excuses** that won’t stand up to the truth. We’ve grown comfortable, fat, and complacent in our Christianity while there’s a **terrible war raging in the spirit realm** that demands the strength and sacrifice of every true Christian.

**Pacifism and True Christianity Don’t Mix**

Churches have largely degenerated into prosperous social clubs, filled with people caring about nothing but themselves and their ambitions. This cannot truly represent the Body of Christ. **Jesus never coveted the things of this world**, so why should His followers? His true body will carry His true heart, and His heart longs to free souls from Satan’s grip. If you claim to be part of the Body of Christ but don’t have this desire, you had better examine yourself to see if you’ve truly joined God’s army.

**1 John 3:8** tells us that Jesus was manifested to **destroy the works of the devil**, but Christians today look glibly at this scripture and say, **“We don’t have to do anything because Jesus did it all!”** What a foolish and ignorant mentality! If the work of Satan was completely destroyed, why is sin accelerating? Why are people, including Christians, so vexed, tormented, sick, addicted, and given to perversions? Obviously, these are not the works of God—they are **works of the devil**!

The **world has yet to see** Satan’s defeat on a larger scale. If we want to see people set free from sin, as Jesus desires, it will take **decisive action from militant Christianity**. Jesus wants to **destroy the works of Satan through His body on earth**. Passing out anointed literature, preaching messages against sin, and witnessing to sinners all help destroy the works of Satan. But **meaningless church programs and social activities won’t**. The streets of the world are Satan’s territory, and that’s where we confront the enemy—not from the comfort of our easy chairs or church buildings.

**The Time for Aggressive Action Is Now**

**Pacifism and true Christianity don’t mix.** The Bible tells us to be **sober and vigilant** because our adversary, the devil, prowls like a lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8-9). We’re commanded to **resist** Satan (James 4:7), meaning to **fight against him aggressively**. Yet too many Christians today are apathetic and pacifistic, unwilling to engage in the war for souls.

Jesus Himself used military terminology, telling us in **Matthew 11:12**, “...the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Satan won’t relinquish his position just because we ignore him or ask nicely. He must be **conquered and driven out** by spiritual force.

Christians who wrongly believe that God’s love means being **weak, pacifistic, and inoffensive** are like lambs coerced by a lion to drop their guard and lie down in false peace, only to be devoured. True peace is only obtained through **God’s power conquering darkness**, and true love motivates Christians to war against Satan for the souls of men. The false peace of passive Christians comes from making a treaty with the enemy, allowing them to live selfishly while **multitudes of souls pour into Hell**.

There can never be peace on earth as long as Satan is free to kill, steal, and destroy. The **true peace of God** is secured only by standing firm and **going to war against the enemy**. While modern Christianity squabbles over petty doctrines, the **true Body of Christ will press on** in its offensive against Satan’s kingdom. Why wait any longer? **Join God’s army today**—get militant against sin, get aggressive against evil, and **make your life count**!

**Tired of a dead church existence?** Sick of the song-and-dance routine? Are you being told the TRUTH by those who call themselves “Men of God”? Why not get bold, get radical, and **go ALL THE WAY for JESUS!**
